My work day carry consists of my thermo cup for coffee, lunch bag, a cap on my head, storage clipboard, pens, highlighters, sharpies, and in my pockets - cell phone, white superman wallet, keys, change.

Before I became a nurse I used to be a purse carryin kinda girl...now I usually just take what I can fit in scrub pockets:
Keys Bandage Scissor Penlight Pens Chapstick Wallet (a "man's" wallet...I've found "women's" wallets are too big to fit in the pocket)

Keys
lipstick or gloss scent of some sort perfume or oil gum wallet thumb drive extra set of keys pen cell phone I always keep a shawl in the car, just in case. Everything is compartmentalized into small bags of similar items. Purse fishing is flustering. Such a practical girl

I have always loved Kenneth Cole bags. This bag is four years old and still looks brand new. It has gone to Seattle and back to Orlando; has had coffee spilled in it and been stuffed full of everything I can think of putting in there.
 Some of my favorite things I carry in my bags: #1 Hand Cream-  -I do apologize for the huge picture.  I carry the perfume and hand cream in my bag during the spring  I do carry a Vera Bradley Lunch Bag with my Kindle Fire Zimmeh
