You are correct Jo, different things work for different people. Other than oatmeal, I also avoid the grains. I had brown rice once this week and I'll have something else in the bread family this week end. I avoid BLONDES at all costs. I pretty much eat all fruits and vegtables and almost everything is uncooked. But sometimes I do cook, as I like to cook. But, back to ...different things work for different people. Your link to the sleep/eating/over eating hit home for me. I know when I am tired, I don't always recognize that I am tired, and i'll be in the kitchen looking for food. Thats really a test of my will power, to get out of the kitchen, empty handed, and to go to bed. Glad to read your son his returning home. He will have grown two inches.
