I'm not a coin collector (I buy original vintage photographs and rare paper items) but this auction is well worth taking an interest in:

Their forthcoming auction, detailed above, has some great items too and presents a good opportunity to view some high-end coins / high-end investment part of the market. |

BUMP!!
Hey everyone...thought i'd give this thread a bump to see if anyone has made any good acquisitions of late..Couple months ago ,at a yard sale,i stumbled upon 2 1965 Vienna University Anniversary proof sets..got them both for $45--was kinda like getting a BOGO,as each set usually go for at least that much.
Hopefully i'll get back to work fulltime after 1st of yr so i can start looking/buying some more! Happy New Year and Happy hunting!

to heck with today's hike, i have a thrift shop to raid! just got 2 vf flying eagle pennies....and they still had 4 good, and very good. going to have to go back, some of the other coins were in my ranges....pennies, nickles, dimes. got an 1864 shilling, nice markings also, but with well worn edges, legible tho, so probably at least a vg, going to have to look it up. oh, great prices, too! merry christmas to me merry christmas to me! I collect both coins and paper currency - particularly foreign currency. I am also developing an interest in Notgeld.
I have more of an interest in paper money, my more recent purchase were some coins from Poland. I have a collection of buffalo nickels, mercury dimes, wheat pennies, Morgan silver dollars, etc. We have quite a collection, but one day I'll have to sort it all out.
