Default What does it take for you to impress yourself?

So I am working on this rather complicated scarf right now, well the boring part of it and I feel like my brain will die if I just keep knitting round and round for what feels like forever.

Anyway.

Everyone is really impressed by what I have knitted.
But I'm not.

Sure I made the pattern, (took a photo from photoshop, took the colour away, threw it on an already made grid and figured it out - not that hard)
And once I figured out how to do intarsia, which is easier than I thought... it felt like knit by numbers. Very slow, very frustrating, but not that hard.

So I feel like I haven't impressed myself with this project, but I enjoy everyone's reactions.

I feel like I figured out how to do that, that I can out do myself.

What does it take for you to impress yourself?

That sounds amazing!

What impresses me on anything that i've done are the pieces i made from what would have been thrown away. i just look back at the finished product and think WOW, all from scraps.

i just think it's pretty cool

June, sandalwood is one of my favorite essential oils. i am not into flowery scents like lavender so i do enjoy it.

i dab some of whatever essential oil i feel like using on a tissue then suck the tissue up in the vacuum cleaner, works great to combat that icky smell coming from vacuum cleaners.

Maybe we should start a Handy Household Hints thread!

I do that with Lemon Grass essential oil. The lady who helps me out around the house always uses a Cotton Wool ball that's slightly damp with E.O added.

Great idea to have Handy Household Hints thread!

I impressed myself when I figured out how to drop stitches off the needles and reknit and put back on the needles lace knitting and have it be right. (rather than unknitting entire rows to fix something)

Have fun with the scarf!

I find that you tube is a life saver for learning new knitting and crocheting stitches.

Everything I've learned lately for jewelry making, I have found on YouTube, it is awesome, because I don't often have the time to take a class.

Whew! I spent some time yesterday in the office/craft room and was able to cut loose of 2 full garbage bags of random fuckery. (nothing good, don't worry!)

I bought some of these a while ago:

This weekend I organized and labeled them and now have drawers for photo paper, scrapbook paper, stickers, note cards, etc.

I'm so excited about having my craft space organized!!
