I'm also listening to Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings... Story goes that Barber wrote this masterpeice when he was 26 yrs. old. That, later in life he dedicated it to his dead wife. And that, in 1936, Toscanini conducted the first performance of it at Rockefeller Center in NYC. and finish my morning time by listening to.... Sergei Rachimaninoff's acapella arrangement of Ave Maria. |
