I'm so musically inclined that I relate most events, good and/or bad to some song somewhere. Breakups are certainly no different but I think each breakup has it's own sound, for lack of a better word, and so each breakup gets it's own song for the most part. Some that come to mind are:
REO's Speedwagon, Time For Me To Fly Whitesnake's, Here I Go Again Melissa Etheridge's, Like The Way I Do The Indigo Girls, Least Complicated Beth Hart's, LA Song The thing about music though [and I just proved this to myself yet once more by listening to each of these songs complete] is with only one or two notes, you are instantly right back there where you were when you were going through whatever it was you were going through and listening or healing to, those songs. And while the feelings are no longer intense or even really emotional perse, they do tug at your heartrstrings and take you to a place that's a little uncomfortable. This is a really interesting thread to read though. We are so fragile yet so resilient aren't we?
