What Are You Thankful For?

I am thankful for so much today:

- I am in love with a remarkable person
- I finally heard from my son who is doing fairly well (much better than my imaginings!), and we have plans to see each other soon
- I got a pet sitting gig that will pay better than I expected and therefore will cover the cost of a retreat I am scheduled to attend this summer (phew!)

...just to name a few

I am thankful for my primary care physician. She is a woman doctor. About 4 to 5 years ago when my other primary care woman doctor retired Dr. ___ took over as the head of the practice. There are five or six other primary care doctors in this practice too.

My doctor took me as her patient eventhough her caseload was full and now she headed the entire practice. I think she wanted me because I was the first transitioning person in their clientel. My doctor is a few years older then me and a married heterosexual woman, mom and grandmother.

To me she is an advocate, health care giver and strong, woman. I like her very much. I can see she really does care about her patients and the practice of medicine.

I am thankful for her and so many women that have come in and out of my life through the years.
