a cute baby squirrel
While sitting here by the west window, moments ago this afternoon, I noticed something flickering in my peripheral vision. So I turned to see that it was a squirrel, sitting on the cedar rail of my patio deck - he was so cute, sitting there trying to entice me to engage with him (or I guess, her). I played 'peek-a-boo' with them for several moments and they seemed to like that I was doing that, and then I remembered I had a can of cashews, walnuts and peanuts over on the kitchen counter. So I went and got a handful of them and carefully opened the glass doors to leave the nuts where they could get them. I thought the squirrel was going to run off, but they just sat there.... staring at me... while I left the nuts and as soon as I came back inside, they ate them all up and sat again near the west window, seemingly happy that I gave them something to eat.

A very sweet text from my daughter asking when I would come visit her and the grandkids. I asked if she needed anything and she laughed and said she needed everything but she just wanted to spend time with me. Haahaa! So many times I miss having my kids at home yet. They are all grown and have their own lives but they are still my little tykies. LOL!

Having a piece come together. Sometimes I have to let a piece sit for a while before I can see the finished product. Today 6 paintings got finished. All only needed a little bit, but it felt so good to see them done. Someone recently asked me how I know a painting is done (I typically paint abstracts). I didn't know how to explain it to them. I just know. I know when it is wrong and needs to be painted over, when it just needs something added and when it is done. Often pieces sit for a while before I can see what needs to be done, but in the end I always know.

Watch my 27 yo son's face light up when he walked in from work and I was there with a belated cake to acknowledge his birthday that I had missed because we were both working.
 What made it so different was that he was originally supposed to be born on the 21st, today... but actually was born on the 18th. So technically it was still his birthday! LOL  Yay... cake!!

Yesterday and carried over to today....
The lovely chamber music concert that Teddy took me to....they played Mozart and Brahms...and even though I've always preferred the latter, my favorite piece was actually one of Brahms'.... After the concert, we meandered in the Berkshires...found by accident the largest state park in the state, October Mountain. Definitely have to return to hike and kayak there...many miles of trails to traverse Then we drove through historic Lenox... a tiny town with grand architecture...just such a lovely day <3
