ornithologists at the laboratory said that because midnight songfests were heard around well-lighted parking lots, there was indeed speculation that it could be the lights that started robins' singing earlier than normal. another possibility, especially if the song is varied rather than a typical robin's song, is that it may have been a mockingbird, an excellent mimic and an enthusiastic night singer. soundchick- |
