Last night the weather co-operated for hamburgers off the grill and fresh corn on the cob. The kiddo could have eaten her weight in corn it was so sweet and yummy. Dessert was freshly sliced juicy peaches. Yum-o!

Today has been cool and rainy so chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese.

The ingredients for homemade brownies are haunting me from the pantry but trying to resist getting down the mixing bowl.

I slow roasted a small pork butt in the oven for six hours, five hours at 250, tightly wrapped in foil, and one hour at 350, uncovered, with some crazy beer and jelly sauce I invented. Pete couldn't stop eating it. We had chopped kale too, because I'm bossy.

One of the packages of Becky's Taco Soup with cornbread and large milk. She has a food saver kit. I think that is the name of it. It sucks all the air out of the plastic bag you dumped the goods in ... so you can freeze it.

I made turkey burgers stuffed with chopped turkey bacon, sweet 'n smoky bbq sauce and the usual spices and flavorings plus a big salad on the side of mixed greens, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and ginger dressing.

If I'm going to be honest, I will say I had a lateish (2ish) lunch with my daughter...and I wasn't terribly hungry around dinner time....so...officially...I had sunflower seeds and an ice cream cone....and I'm ok with that...
