yesterday i found out i am going to arkansas for a week and getting paid for it!
today i came home and the back yard was mowed and dinner of roast and potatoes and carrots made the house smell amazing! and it tasted even better! life is good

A fb friend of mine told me this funny story. I guess (don't ask why) she is fb friends with Patti Davis (Nancy and Ronnie's daughter) whose dog is sick. This friend got Patti Davis mixed up with me and started to give her condolences saying she is so sorry that her dog is sick now right after her cat died (my cat died last week). So she says that Patti Davis never responded to her (duh) but every one on Patti Davis' fb page started to give her condolensces on her cat's (my cat's death). I don't know this just tickled my funny bone. One, who friends Patti Davis and two, that we were mixed up etc. Now it doesn't sound so funny but it made myself and a co-worker laugh out loud. hahaa

I went for a hike after work....
At long last I have figured out what a butternut tree looks like while looking at said butternut tree...I saw a small red bird in the top branches...when I grabbed my binoculars, I saw it was a scarlet tananger....a bird I have longed to see since childhood....

fun with extensions
I'm doing a coworker's hair for a wedding Saturday. At lunch today we went to Sallys Beauty and picked out some extensions. After work, I plopped that faux hair on her head and whipped up a do that ended up looking like Elsa from Frozen. Apparently this is exactly what she wanted.
Much squealing, posing in the mirror and fingering of the braid draped over her shoulder commenced. Makes me smile when I make my girls happy

A couple of things that all connected.
My sweetie came back from 6-days in Portland visiting her butch bud last night and we had a wonderful welcome home "party" and I was sitting at a light while driving to work this AM, smiling a lot to myself, thinking about it and I looked to my right and an older man was smiling back at me and gave me a thumbs up. Made me laugh out loud.

well, I wouldn't have expected coming home smiling but a friend of mine gave a friend of hers my email and we met for dinner tonight. I had a really good time. This is like my first official fix up date since I left my long term relationship. It turns out (NYC is a very small lesbian world) that I know some of her good friends, we have a similar history (NYC in the late 60's and 70's and 80's) and she seemed (of course I don't really know her) to be a nice person. Not sure what comes next in the dating world but would like to see her again. I am actually shocked at myself for thinking this. I went into it with no expectation except for a good dinner at this french bistro
