Simply terrific. We loved it.

Redbox day! I saw Planes, which disappointed me because the nimrod who had the disc before either scratched it up and didn't say anything or they also sat through a skipping, pixelating, freezing and jumping movie too and didn't say anything. Either way, I'm not a happy girl and I made sure Redbox pulls this disc when I turn in back in. I did piece together the story and it's super similar to Cars. I wish they'd stepped a bit farther outside of the boundaries for the story line but it's a good, harmless kids' movie so I can't complain.
I also picked up Ride Along but I'll wait until tomorrow night to watch it. |

Ping Pong Summer with largely a cast of unknown except for a bit part with Susan Sarandon! Even Susan wasn’t able to breathe life into this hideous film!!

From time to time thoughts of the climatic chase scene from Short Circuit 2 pop into my head. There were MANY great films made in 1988, and this isn't one of them. It is, however, incredibly entertaining and criminally underrated.

I went to see Maleficent over the weekend. I made sure not to even read too much about it because I hate ANY kind of spoilers. Even trailers and previews feel like spoilers to me. So I didn't know what to expect except a retake on Sleeping Beauty.
I really, REALLY loved it. A lot more than I thought I would. I thought the Maleficent character was dimensional and that Angelina Jolie was perfect in the role, and I am not usually a huge fan of her. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Maleficent and Aurora and the special effects were really good, too. I recommend it. |
