What brings me peace?

Silence. The ability to be silent and to tolerate silence seems to be becoming a lost art in our world of noise and instant access. But, to me, to sit in silence, with perhaps the expected sounds of birds chirping, the ocean roaring, the wind whistling.....is heavenly. It is a time when time stops, when I feel one with the All, when clarity in thought is unsurpassed, when joy and contentment are mine, and when I can just enjoy being.

Sometimes it's going outside to listen to all the blackbirds singing their little beaky hearts out,
Other times it's blasting out Disturbed on my ipod...
It all depends on what I'm doing,
If I'm writing I need to listen to music,
If I'm meditating, again, it's music, so I can block out the outside world/voices.
Even standing out in a thunderstorm is soothing!
