The Laugh Factory in Hollywood (Sunset and Laurel) continues their annual tradition of offering free Thanksgiving meals for anyone hungry.

At 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, and 7PM, people will be welcomed. They will not only get a free meal, but they will be served and entertained by comedians.

The owners do this on Christmas Day, too (though they are Jewish).

Finally home from my European trip, so I have not had the opportunity to post this before, but I've been asked to speak on a panel tonight at California State University Northridge. Topic: Lesbian culture pre vs post stonewall, strongly focusing on how the bars became the center of our community. One bartender from each decade invited to speak. As a bar owner in the 80's and a bartender in the 90's I will be representing both decades. Invited by and moderated by Marie Cartier PhD, author of "Baby, You are My Religion; Women, Gay Bars, and Theology Before Stonewall" Location is The Gender & Women's Studies Dept, rm 340 http://babyyouaremyreligion.com/ Time is 7pm

"Baby You Are My Religion argues that American butch-femme bar culture of the mid-20th Century should be interpreted as a sacred space for its community. Before Stonewall - when homosexuals were still deemed mentally ill - these bars were the only place where many could have any community at all. "

San Bernadino Ca. shooting at a developmental service bldg. so far 3 dead several hurt and the suspect or suspects in body armor is still in the bldg. PRAY for these poor ppl who now have become victims.

The count is up to 14 now. Too close to home, and friends are on lock down at work. This is so devastating.

Less than 24 hours until SoCal is invaded by two handsome and kind butches. We will be out and about (zoo, dancing, burlesque show @ gossip grill, etc.) and welcome the company. There will be time for coffee and meals too. Don't forget to PM me if you don't already have my number.

What an amazing weekend, I left the deep freeze and arrived to sunshine and hot temperatures. The weekend was filled with much fun and laughter and time spent with great people....I left and came home to snow....bah....I want to go back.......

The San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering is a ten-day educational experience including

The week kicks off with its largest event EXPO Day (March 5th) at PETCO Park.

EXPO Day is free and open to the public.
