What are you having for dinner tonight? - Page 1359

Last week when I went grocery shopping, I bought some steaks (London Broil meat cuts) and I roasted them all afternoon.... with sweet onion, baby carrots and little sweet red peppers, and fresh basil leaves and a bit of fresh rosemary.

I'll have roasted steak to dine on, all week long....but the house smells divine. They're almost done roasting. I roast them until the meat is so tender that you don't have to cut it up.

For dessert: It's gonna be jelly beans.

Late after dinner, I'm gonna have a cup of hot cocoa with cinnamon sprinkles.

Stopped at the store on the way home to buy milk and canned dog food. This is the second time in the past month I only got part of the groceries I paid for. The cashier said I had it all when I asked. The canned dog food did not make it out of the store with me.

After I got home and discovered the loss, I turned the oven up to broil and cooked 6.5 lbs ground chuck and 7 lbs of skinless, de-boned chicken breasts. When it was done, I tore up most of the meat with my hands, filled up 3 bowls, stuck my head out the back door and yelled,"chicken and hamburger picnic!" Got somewhat clobbered by stampeding paws. LOL! Always lots of enthusiasm at my house to hear the word "picnic" in a sentence.

I ate an enormous burger with milk after I had fed them. So good!

I had fried mullet and Cole slaw. Unsweetened iced tea to drink. I was at a restaurant and got to look out at the Gulf as I dined.

Fresh salad greens, with sweet peas, pickled beets, crumbled blue cheese, broccoli florets, sunflower seeds and a tiny drizzle of creamy balsamic dressing. Sliced peppered tofurkey on sliced rustic sourdough bread with jalapeño artichoke spread from the deli. Water over crushed ice, to drink. Hot herbal tea after dinner.

At the store today I ran into "Sachets de cuisson parchemin" otherwise known as easy prep parchment paper bags, hadn't seen those before! I was just going to get a roll but these looked fun.

That led to wild caught pacific salmon, fresh dill, Meyer lemon, asparagus, and leeks. I have some already made up supergreens salad to go with. Been playing in the kitchen a bit lately, it's been a while and I'm enjoying it.

I had a giant salad of mixed greens, croutons, sunflower seeds, light OG dressing, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, mixed julienned peppers, fajita chicken morsels, shredded 4 blend cheese, diced celery, sliced baby cukes and chopped mushrooms. A handful of Runts for dessert. Water to drink.

Shrimp and jalapeno poppers. Diet Ginger Ale.
Fresh raspberries, blueberries and strawberries topped with fresh whip cream.

Take and Bake pizza, Canadian Bacon and pineapple extra CB. Cowboy with extra sausage. Movie night at son's place with him and his girlfriend. We're all dieting but we had Papa Murphy's coupons we couldn't bring ourselves to waste.

Oh my goodness, it was so Good!

Salmon lighty pan sauteed in butter, fresh garlic and ginger. Oh so tender, I did it perfect! (Does not always happen, lol)
Asparagus bundles wrapped in bacon and roasted.

Sparkling lemonade.

I`m cooking gammon steaks in a herb crust, baked potato with sour cream and chives, steamed broccoli and carrots, I`m pondering on cauliflower cheese too though if my little crew vote yes I may skip the dressing on the potato otherwise it maybe a little too rich and heavy.
