If you “REALLY” knew me…

You’d know that I have a softness and tenacity with an innate clumsiness at times.

I can be Conquering and vulnerable, yet, I’m thoughtful, nurturing, loving, and affectionate and feel things deeply.

I’m very intuitive, instinctual and have non-rational perception of people and situations – this can unnerve some people.

I’m very spiritual, yet, sometime I can be rebellious (within the law).

I’ve lived and worked in 36 countries in 20 years.

Despite working in the Funeral and Mortuary Sciences, I’m the least morbid person you’ll meet!

I’m a former Para-Olympic Swimmer.

I’ve had a phobia of Clowns since early childhood, yet, I’m OK! around Mimes.

I love fruit and could happily eat it all day……..I swear I was a Fruit Bat in a previous life.

I always sleep with the hall light on as I’m afraid of the dark.

I don’t own a TV and haven’t done for years, although I watch DVDs on my laptop.

I have to tone down my accent so people can understand me when I speak (this does not include fellow Kiwis or my family).

I love working and making things with my hands.

I’m a loyal and supportive friend unless you do something to hurt me, then I’ll have nothing more to do with you.

I say what I feel/think and this has been taken as me being hurtful unintentionally.

I can and do have a fiery temper when pushed too far!

I love and adore my furbabies – in fact all animals - I take in unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals.

I love sitting and feeding Swans – I’d love a Swan sanctuary.

I’m not judgmental, yet, I am observational about people and their habits.

I believe everyone has a right to their feelings and no-one has the right to tell you otherwise.

I love silly, playful banter and I’ve been known to play practical jokes on people when they least expect it!

If you "REALLY" knew me, you'd know that this is just a little of who I am.

You would know I have changed a lot over the recent years..

I am still sensitive and really hate to let people down - but i now know how to let go of people who are toxic in my life.

I am still shy and soft spoken- But am no longer afraid to stand up for myself when needed and if i am comfortable around you, i can be the life of the party.

I try not to take anything or anyone for granted and also try not to assume, but sometimes it gets the best of me.

I have a teen aged daughter with Aspergers Syndrome

I am a very private person and don't share much about myself unless I truly trust you, and even then it takes time for me to be completely open.

Trust is very important to me, once its been broken, it is almost never the same.

I never feel like I belong anywhere..

...I have a dry erase calendar on the side of my fridge...
...if I kno ur birthday, it is on the calendar...
...I don't hold onto grudges...or regrets...because everything happens for a reason
...I am friends with almost all of my ex's
...I am very affectionate & snuggly
...my eyes & smile are my best features (according to friends)
...I love kids & animals
...I am the opposite of a lot of ppl...I DON'T eat (at all) when stressed
...thankfully I don't get stressed easily or often
...I dislike talking on the phone...but will for certain people
...if I love u & care about u...you will know it, because I will do everything in my power to show it
...respect is given...but trust is earned

If u Really Knew me....you would kno my scars, their stories, & love me anyway...

...you'd have your eyes opened to my reality.
...you'd see me fight my battles daily.
...you'd see me sometimes fight with everything I am to stay clean.
...you'd see my strength.
...you'd see my weakness.
...you'd see I never give up.

...you'd see the love I have for certain people and why I love them so intensely.

...you'd know I have several people that adopted me into their families.
...you'd see me pay respect when none should be paid.
...you'd know I expect nothing less than your best effort. Failure is okay.
...you'd see how quickly I read.
...you'd know that if the movie/show doesn't have captioning, I won't watch it.
...you'd see the different sides of me and know why they're there.
...you'd know why forgiveness was forgiven, and understand my boundaries regarding those situations.
...you'd know that you may randomly see me start signing, especially when I'm working out a problem.
...you'd know to not stare at me when that happens. Watch all you want, don't stare. It's rude.

I stand up for what I know to be right
am not predjudiced
my family is important to me
I am very proud of my daughter, she is 21
I say what is on my mind and sometimes get looked at like where'd that come from?
I often get inspired and write poems
I have a big heart
I wish I could own a farm and have as many homeless animals as possible there
I love the smell of a farm, it gives me a "high"
I think I was meant to be on a farm it is so relaxing

I was thinking about responding to this thread but then I thought it sorta feels like a resume. I read a lot of resumes on my job and what I look for are accomplishments and outside validations.

So I think I will wait until I have proven the things that I would put on this list to the rest of you.

Then I will write it.

My bark is worse than my bite so to speak.

I absolutely love chocolate

I cant eat enough Mexican Food

I take life as it comes and roll with the punches.

There have been very few times I couldnt roll with said punches. The death of my mom was one of those times.

I am extremely independent. And appear as Superman to people who know me in real time.

I only take my Superman cap off when I am home alone. And can finally exhale and just relax.

I have no edit button. I say what is exactly on my mind

I cant stand crowds

I have a huge heart

~ I suffer from depression and anxiety/panic attacks, and have been on disability due to this for the past 3-4 years

~ I live with My parents and sister, plus we have My uncle and his fiancee staying with us until they find a place of their own

~ I've had two gallbladder surgeries, almost 10 years apart to the day

~ I can't get enough of pepsi and chocolate

~ I am type 2 diabetic

~ I lost both of My grandparents, on My mom's side, of cancer 360 days apart

~ I was in the room when one of My cousin's died of cancer, holding her hand as I watched her take her very last breath

~ I'm a HUGE fan of hockey, football, wrestling and MMA

~ My two favorite teams are the Winnipeg Jets (hockey - NHL) and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (football - CFL)

~ I identify as pansexual, meaning that I love the person for who they are on the inside not what gender they are

~ I love scratch tickets, especially Crossword and Bingo

~ My favorite color is purple

Ok, so this didn't go over too well, absolutely 0 thank-you's but I keep coming back to it for some reason. So...I think instead of listing all of my wonderful qualities, I will list my most evil traits.

I am outspoken
I am opinionated
I am very independent and don't like for anyone to tell me what to do.
I have asthma but I still smoke
I love gin & tonics way too much
I would rather log on to BFP than my virtual computer (don't tell my boss)
I am diabetic (not on any meds) but love my carbs
I love comfort foods and hate veggies
I don't believe in any "WooWoo" stuff or even consider myself spiritual in any way.
I love to cook but hate doing laundry
I like to gamble, slots are my favorite
I hate washing my hair, it's long (twice a week at the most)
I hate cleaning the toilet, would rather pick up the dog poop
I like sleeping alone
I hate sports on TV

my third grade teacher cracked a plastic ruler over my head and broke it.
my worst fear is being buried alive.
that when I am bored I like to try and catch 25 grapes in my mouth at one time.
that I sort of don't like donuts much. But I do love tequila and donuts!! And cake!!!!!
that I work hard and play low keyed, have too or I couldn't work hard.
I had a cyst on my thyroid gland in the shape of Mickey Mouse.

I have a VP in my title at work...not to brag...but to let you all know that with all my years in management, I don't participate in drama or back room gossip. What you see is what you get with me. I will always be forthright and upfront with you. Sometimes that may feel uncomfortable as people generally like to avoid conflict, but at least you can always know where you stand with me.

I don't know any of you on this board. I have not had any interaction either in real time or online with the posters on this board (except Vlasta), at least I don't think I do.

I am the last person in the world to hold a grudge. Sure I get mad, but by the next day, it is completely forgotten. I don't know why I am like that but I sure am glad that I am. Holding grudges only hurts the one who is holding them.

I just came here to make friends, I have no hidden agendas.

If anyone is ever offended by what I post, I would surely hope that you would come to me and tell me, preferably in private.

Now I am going to go find a smiley appropriate to this post...wish me luck!

I have a wide circle of acquaintances, but a small circle of friends who love me so beautifully and I love them back! They say I've changed their life in some way (for the better) and I feel the same way about them.

I am a very private person but my personality is highly contagious.

I give the best I have and save the worst of me for people who really know me. I know I can talk about unvarnished stuff with them in ways that I can't do or be here online. I'd get in a lot of trouble. Trust me.

I tend to be life long friends with people who dig bringing their creative reality to the equation of mutuality. People I associate with are rarely anything like myself yet we compliment and bring out the best in each other.

I'm strangely intelligent. I often embarrass myself often by my own natural curiosity and stark openness. Sometimes I feel good about this and other times I wonder if I am cursed.

I made a quilt out of cocktail napkins once.

The worst place that I have been stung by a bee was on my tongue. I was walking and talking (go figure) and before I knew it there was something weird in my mouth that I spit out. I didn’t know if I was going to have an allergic reaction, so I basically sat down and waited to see if my tongue was going to swell and choke me to death.

When I was young I had a fascination with briefcases, until I finally got one and realized they weren't all that exciting.

My favorite vegetable is the avocado, which is technically a fruit. My favorite true vegetable is the artichoke.

I've gotten angry only twice this year and I plan to go a full year without it in 2012. ... that I'm indecisive. ... that when I was little, I really wanted to grow up to be an entomologist... until I learned that I would have to kill the insects to do it. ... my favorite band is the Tragically Hip but my favorite song is 'From the Beginning' by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. If the Hip did a cover of that song, I would probably be all set in my musical life. ... I only drink tea, juice, water, and the rare cup of coffee. ... that I like odd numbers. ... I solve math problems in my head when I'm stressed to keep from panicking. ... that I'm gullible. ... that I tend to read books in a matter of hours unless I actively pace myself. ... I am equally right and left brained... and ambidextrous. ... that I really am this happy, positive, and peaceful. ... that I don't take medication of any sort, unless I could die if I don't. It's even in my medical records. ... that love people despite being very shy. ... I don't like to argue and it makes me withdraw when someone argues at me, even though I'm not disagreeing or saying anything at all. ... that while I am feminine, I do not ID as a femme. ... at Christmas and my birthday, I donate money to charities. I especially like the Whale Center of New England and I've adopted several whales. ... that one of the people I got angry at this year was a manager at the office. ... that I refuse to grow up till I'm at least eighty years old. Maybe not even then. ... I have an urge to hug people when I see them looking sad or hurt; friends, coworkers, strangers, etc.

But I do love tequila and donuts!! And cake!!!!! that I work hard and play low keyed, have too or I couldn't work hard. I had a cyst on my thyroid gland in the shape of Mickey Mouse.

What you see is what you get with me. I will always be forthright and upfront with you. Sometimes that may feel uncomfortable as people generally like to avoid conflict, but at least you can always know where you stand with me. I don't know any of you on this board. I have not had any interaction either in real time or online with the posters on this board (except Vlasta), at least I don't think I do. I am the last person in the world to hold a grudge. Sure I get mad, but by the next day, it is completely forgotten. I don't know why I am like that but I sure am glad that I am. Holding grudges only hurts the one who is holding them. I just came here to make friends, I have no hidden agendas. If anyone is ever offended by what I post, I would surely hope that you would come to me and tell me, preferably in private. I have a wide circle of acquaintances, but a small circle of friends who love me so beautifully and I love them back! They say I've changed their life in some way (for the better) and I feel the same way about them. I am a very private person but my personality is highly contagious. I give the best I have and save the worst of me for people who really know me. I know I can talk about unvarnished stuff with them in ways that I can't do or be here online. I'd get in a lot of trouble. Trust me. I tend to be life long friends with people who dig bringing their creative reality to the equation of mutuality. People I associate with are rarely anything like myself yet we compliment and bring out the best in each other. I'm strangely intelligent. I often embarrass myself often by my own natural curiosity and stark openness. Sometimes I feel good about this and other times I wonder if I am cursed.

I made a quilt out of cocktail napkins once. The worst place that I have been stung by a bee was on my tongue. I was walking and talking (go figure) and before I knew it there was something weird in my mouth that I spit out. I didn’t know if I was going to have an allergic reaction, so I basically sat down and waited to see if my tongue was going to swell and choke me to death. When I was young I had a fascination with briefcases, until I finally got one and realized they weren't all that exciting. My favorite vegetable is the avocado, which is technically a fruit. My favorite true vegetable is the artichoke.
