American Gods by Neil Gaiman

It may be an older book of his, but it does turn the whole idea of religion on its head.

Loved this book! Enjoy!

Right now I'm reading World Without End by Ken Follett.... and just started Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges. I have the bad habit of reading several books at once.

"Pies and Prejudice", in search of the north of england by stuart maconie, one of the best and funniest travel books i have ever read, save "The Tent, a bucket and Me" by Emma Kennedy which is absolutely hillarious, about a girl growing up in the 70's and her experiences with her camping family, i had to real several times becos i couldnt stop laughing.............

I am currently reading Wench: A Novel by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Its a story of four slave women who travel to spend the summer with their masters at a vacation resort in Ohio (set in the 1850's). I just started it and am already struggling to put it down!

I just finished The King of Lies by John Hart. A good read - especially for those familiar with small towns in NC!

I just started a book called Into the Blue by Robert Goddard. I bought it at a second hand book sale and its been sitting in the closet for months. It has to be one of the best mystery books I have read in a long time.

I've been reading Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories on the subway the last week and a half or so. Finished The Pale Horseman, Lords of the North and Sword Song, just started The Burning Land today. All of the books have been great so far and I hope Cornwell publishes a new one soon since he's said there will probably be 7 or 8 books in the series total.

Anyways, definitely recommend these to fans of historical fiction, particularly about early Germanic history. Or if you're already a Bernard Cornwell fan in general
