I cleaned my house, cleaned my ferret's room (which is a CHORE), took care of my dogs and have been watching a Queer as Folk marathon. Now, laying on the couch and waiting for Justin to get home from an out of town work trip.

I went to the rock store today and I got a bunch of cool gravel and rocks for a couple of my fish tanks (the Dempsey tank and the planted angel hex tank). I am going to take out the old rock and part of the gravel then put the new stuff in. I love building caves for them and thinking about all the fry they will raise in there while living out their little fishy lives.
I am roasting a turkey today. When it is done I will transform the carcass into lunch meat and turkey curry salad with cashews and of course stock. I was gonna try hanging the rug in my room outside and beating the crap out of it with a bat but I think that bit of letting off steam will need to wait for another day. There really needs to be a nap in a sun beam in here somewhere

I just got done watching the movie... The Help ... and OMG!!!!
i cried ... and laughed and cried and chuckled and cried some more.. * sigh* .... and geezzers.. some of them white women were a bunch of aS****oles ... that was a awesome movie.... glad i bought it

Halfway through a 4-day weekend.
Thursday: The two neighbor kids slept over. Friday: Holls' BFF from school slept over. She is LOUD. Saturday: The BFF, Holls' boyfriend, my son and I spent a freezing morning at a park (which will be a lot of fun come spring). Then, the four of them went to a mall for a couple of hours while I ran to the grocery store for dinner stuff. Later, I took the boyfriend home (on the other side of the river), and the BFF home (she lives on the other side of town). I was too tired to cut potatoes for the roast beef. It's only 8:00 and I'm ready for bed. Oh, and through all of this, Izzy came home Wednesday .

The last time I went out, really out, before tonight was NYE. I just got back from a night of live jazz music, wine, wonderful food and dancing!
I am swooning over it all! I am going to get changed into my pajamas after being in a dress and heels all night (that felt SO good!) and I am going to relax with more wine (or tea) and a movie until I get to talk to my friends about it all. |

After an afternoon researching, buying then using a new rechargeable lawn mower, I'm assembling tool cabinets* and getting ready to install them in a spare bedroom closet, while regularly checking to see if there's any chance of our seeing the northern lights tonight: http://helios.swpc.noaa.gov/ovation/ I REALLY hope so -- it's a bucket-list item for me, so I'm VERY excited about the possibility!
I think I'll have a glass of wine - though a beer seems more appropriate for these activities! *yes, I'm a femme and I love my tool collection - I even bought some new screwdrivers today and I'm very excited about that! The cabinets were what I bought with my birthday money from my parents last year. I'm excited beyond all measure that now that the ex is out of here, I might actually be able to organize my tools and then FIND THEM where they're supposed to be!!! And I'm evil-girl thrilled to find that the ex left the ratchet set behind that I got him for a present some years ago -- and no, I'm not going to tell him that I found it.
