Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocols.
Great action flick with some unbelievable stunts! If you like action movies, you will like this one!

The Hunger Games - I saw it even after the mixed reviews here and elsewhere. While it's not a perfect film, it's a necessary one. My group was on the edge of their seats and very affected by this dystopic vision.
I highly recommend the film and would catch this on the big screen. The lead actor, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the character Katness, is definitely one to watch. She was absolutely compelling in this. And here's to a film and book that puts female archer with the ability to convey both compassion and strength as the story's protagonist. ![]() |

Books are more open to individual interpretation. Films present a director's vision.
It's hard to compare genres - operas based on Shakespearean plays, ballets based on stories, films based on books. For sure, both the book and film Hunger Games are worth exploring. |

"The Raven." If you are a fan of Poe OR you like a good suspense thriller that does have some bloody moments but still has a good story line-go see it! I would go back tonight and watch it again!
Edit to add: And, I watched "Charlie St. Cloud" last night. Aside from the fact that Zac Efron has the most beautiful eyes, the movie was really good. But, grab the Kleenix before you settle in! ![]()

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) directed by Elia Kazan. Starring Vivien Leigh, Marlon Brando, Kim Hunter, and Karl Malden. This film shows the slow mental decline of a woman, Blanche, under duress from her brother-in-law, Stanley. I've used this film in my classes dealing with mental illness, women and film. An intense film.

Bad Teacher
I was offended by all the racist ha-ha's in this movie.

![]() ![]() I think this movie was very thought provoking. I think the cast and the acting was awesome. I absolutely loved this movie. More than one scene made me cry, and I nearly had a heart attack during one scene. My body jerked so hard and I made a noise loud enough to make a stranger behind me laugh with me afterward and pat my shoulder comfortingly. I want to read the trilogy now. |
