 ...), sauteed vegetables with crushed red pepper flakes, lemon garlic salt on that, and a small slice of cherry pie with haagen Daas (sp.?) Vanilla ice cream

wellll. it IS Thursday!!! My BFF called and told me she would meet me at our fave wing place...sooo...can you guess what I had?
Garlic Parm wings with celery & Ranch. And OF COURSE, she practically twisted my arm off to share a dessert. Yep, the chocolate cake with chocolate syrup and crumbled heath bars and cool whip on top WITH a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. I DID bring half of my wings home for later...lol

I got some nice fresh broccoli and cooked that in a little olive oil and fresh lemon juice, a sprinkle of garlic salt (since I didnt think of fresh til too late) and some freshly ground lemon pepper seasoning. I cut up a chicken breast and added it in. Turned out good.....
for dessert I tried a melon I'd never had; canary melon. Kindof tastes like cantaloupe and honey dew all at once...very yummy....

So tonight is another new recipe night. Once in awhile I Skype with my mother and we cook together. We take turns selecting recipes. It was her turn and she picked a Southwest Meat Pie.
The crust is made like any other crust but with a couple tablespoons of cornmeal added. The filling is twice ground hamburger, corn, green pepper, onion, corn meal, oregano, chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and half the mild green chiles. Cooked for 25 minutes Then covered with a mixture of egg, milk, salt, dry mustard, worcestershire sauce, half the sliced olives, mild green chiles and shredded cheese. and topped with Cooked more olives, chiles and roughly chopped cooked bacon and put back in the oven for another 5-10... Looks tasty... |
