driving to petco with Pearl today..she LOVES riding in the car...sticking her head out the window..til i get going too fast..then she sneezes...shes not a fan of that. She lovesss going to petco...walking around...meeting other dogs......Pearl, though a handful at times...she is the apple of my eye...and i LOVE her!

This is in anticipation for tomorrow. Not sure how many of you remember the Willowbrook expose on "mental institutions by Geraldo Rivera. The college that I work at is on the grounds of Willowbrook. Willowbrook scholars and archives are very much a part of our culture.
So, where am I going with this. The graduates of our Bachelors of Social work program reached out to Geraldo Rivera for their separate graduation ceremony (50 grads and their families). His current politics, aside Geraldo accepted. When he announced that he was going to speak with many kudos to social workers, btw, he said that this is going to be his first time returning to the site since the expose. Which makes this cool and exciting.
I think tomorrow is going to be very special. For those of you interested and not aware of Willowbrook Google it. Proud to be a social worker.

My supervisor at work surprised me with a really sweet birthday card, a box of assorted chocolate, and some beautiful trinkets from her country in Eastern Europe! I was so surprised and delighted that she thought of me.

And she wrote the nicest things in the card; it was so complimentary it nearly brought tears to my eyes. It was such a nice way to start the work week!

one of my crazy (and I say crazy with the best intentions) clients who happens to be 60 something told me today she was only 35. I told her,"well, that makes me older than you." After processing what I said she looks at me with a twinkle in her eyes and says,"Don't worry, Honey...You look damn good for your age."

She kept me rolling with laughter and tears all day.
