Hello everybody.. Happy Sun day! Although it's not sunny here. It's been cloudy last couple days, windy and thunderstorms around the area.
muffins consumed me when I woke up! breakfast: 365 calories - 3 mini choc chip muffins, peach low fat yogurt, black french roast lunch: 500 calories – 2 beef hot dogs no bun w/ ketchup, baked tostito scoops with all natural salsa. dinner: not sure yet. I may hit up a bar to watch my football team then it could be bad. . but I'll try and be good. ![]() |

PF does not promise that there will never be any bodybuilders in their facilities; they promote and design their gyms for the average person. Anyone will business sense is not going to turn customers away, so if someone who body builds wants a membership, I'm sure they sign them up. The locations I've gone to here in Texas frown on dropping the weights and loud grunting. There's this for that: As for transferring, etc, it depends on the type of contract you have. If you sign up for the $10/month, then you are not under a contract and can cancel at any time. If you sign up for the $20/month, you are under a one year contract but you can go to any of the PF gyms you find. Maybe those contracts are not available in FL, but they are here in TX. I just hate to see the whole company bashed for one bad location since they helped me a great deal when I was actually going. I even got a free orientation and training session out of it. |

Good morning and welcome to everyone new to the thread!
![]() Well, yesterday was a complete write off. I started badly with blueberry pancakes, syrup and crispy bacon....and went downhill from there. My body retaliated though....and I was sick all night. It's amazing how what would have been a fairly normal eating day a few months ago now leaves me doubled over and sick. Scary stuff. I'm back on track today....high fiber oatmeal and black coffee...and trying to be nice to my still unhappy stomach. ![]()

I hear you on this one. One of the things I have found is that after eating very clean mostly whole foods is that the tolerance for crap really goes away. I suppose that is good, the body healing itself and its ability to re-identify toxins. But when you feel like, “Hey, I can have a binge day, it won’t really matter to the big picture” and it backfires like this it seems a bit unfair. About three weeks ago I did a face plant into a bucket of ice cream, and while fun at the time, it just about killed me the next day. Quite the hangover. Then, just to add insult to injury; the refined sugar set up an incredibly strong craving cycle that lasted about four days. I felt like a junkie for sugar. ![]() |

I know exactly what it feels like to have stomach problems after going on a " I deserve a free day" ugh .... 2 days ago I had two slices of oatmeal bread which really was fine if i stopped there ... but noooooooooo it tasted so good so I had another 2... now this bread is pepperidge farm so it's low cal. Well my stomach gave me hell and the guilt was horrendous. Over bread? C'mon now ... really?
Well, this morning I weighed in knowing I prolly gained a lb. and I have to tell you 2 weeks and 1 day into this program ( nutri system ) which costs about $ 60 a week not including the cost of dairy, fruit, veggies, protein I 've lost 10 whole lbs. So even though I had that bread I stopped after that and resumed my plan. I'm doing the happy dance over here .... come join me . Remember the trick is never let yourself get hungry . Every 2-3 hrs. have a snack between meals fruit and dairy even if you're not hungry an apple, grapes, and 6-8 oz. of skim milk does the trick . Good luck ... ![]()

I now eat vegan (except for fish), as I believe that it decreases my chance of having a cancer recurrence. Subsequently, I have given up all diary. Milk protein is 80 percent caesin, which accelerates the growth of tumors and metastatis (the other 20 percent is whey, which helps inhibit cancer). All people have cancer cells, but it stands to reason that I could/would have more cancer cells floating around in my body. I don't want to increase the growth of those malignant cells. I use almond milk in my cereal and it is surprisingly really good! To answer the other question, how I did it (stopped eating cheese) was to just stop eating it. It sucks. I can't stand the taste of soy cheese or any of the other "fake cheese", as I call it, so I just do without. Why do you want to cut out cheese..the calories? ETA: I am allowed to have 2 eggs per week as long as they are infused with Omega 3 (just saying since I mentioned the vegan thing)

Just said enough is enough (plus my cholesterol jumped 30 points). As with sweets, the first week to 10 days are the hardest. I obsess about them. The craving is like what I imagine the jonesing for dope is to an addict newly in recovery. After the days pass, I stop caring about eating any of it. I did unconsciously pick up a loaf of bread @ the store yesterday. Did not even "see" it in my cart till the checkout line! Asked the cashier to please take it from me as I was allergic to it. Now I could have kidded myself but then I would have had to buy butter and on and on-back on the merry-go-round I would have been.

I am struggling with getting myself back on track!! I don't know why it is so dang hard!? I was so motivated before when I lost 60 lbs... and now I am just like blahhhhhh. I need to get back running again but it is still in the high 80's outside. Ahh.. I just need to find my motivation again! I have been going through a lot of stress recently, so I think that may be the little culprit that is derailing me.
I had to vent! Hugs to all! :-D Starry |

I caught up on this thread which was me treating myself good and healthy because you all give such great support, tips, and love!
I don't have much to say but I'll talk anyway because it's good to participate to stay in the game ![]() I had a morning last week that I was late to work because my scale that I have used for a thousand years (or so it feels) finally broke. As I've said, I normally weigh myself every morning, and this just about made me go postal! In fact it kind of temporarily did! I kept stepping on the scale, and it kept not lighting up, so I kept stepping again in a different spot on the scale, or moving it, or changing the battery. No luck! I was like a mouse in some cruel experiment, trained so extensively to step on a pedal for a reward that when there is no reward, the mouse keeps stepping and stepping! Very reluctantly I have switched to BB's scale. BB's scale weighs me 2.5 lbs lower than my scale. I know that as long as it's consistent (and thank goodness it's "lower-consistent") then it's not a problem, but I feel like my whole sense of the universe if off. As you can imagine, BB thinks I'm being a bit dramatic but alas, this adjustment shall take a little more time. As an end to this tangent, I should note that my cat, Frou Frou, also misses my scale, so we are able to bond over it. Frou Frou used to love the texture of that scale (or something) and loved to roost on it when I was not using it. She'd look up so seriously at BB and me, and one of us would say, "Frou Frou, are you on the Catkins diet again? Dont' be embarrassed. We'll support you." It was all very silly but a pleasant routine for all involved. Maybe she'll also eventually adjust to the new scale. And that's all I have to say for tonight. Thanks, my weight loss/ health buddies ![]() |

I was away all weekend, and did very little moving. But I knew that would be the case. I did take a 1/2 hour each day for some power yoga, but that is not really going to aid in weight loss. We did go for a two hour hike in the mountains on Friday, which was a good sweat generator.
I did not pay attention to the amount of protein I was eating, and did not pay attention to that detail. So, last night when I went to my Zumba class I could really feel my muscles struggling and this morning they were struggling. I am going to have to keep a better eye on my protein, I know that that can be quite a factor in weight loss. I don't eat meat or dairy. I did have soy, but I only had a cup a day when I was away. We did eat very well, but I am used to my protein shake every morning, which is 27g right there. So... not sure where I am on the scale. I will find out Friday for my weigh in. It is a glorious week of exercise opportunity so I best not miss it. It is actually a great week with lots and lots of wonderful things going on... I just have to figure out when I will have time to do my laundry!!

Hey all y'all healthy folks!
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile... although I've been faithfully reading your updates everyday. I guess the last week or so, I've been in a slight stump. I haven't binged, but I could feel my motivation slipping away. I've been watching what I eat, but have noticed that I'm giving myself a lil' too much leeway with comfort food. When I weighed last week, I was at a standstill again. I KNOW that I've got to get moving again... I am the only one that can make these changes. Seeing all of your updates & encouraging words is giving me the reality check that I need! The other night, I was craving chicken spaghetti. Yeah, I know, not the healthiest dinner, but I made my modifications and it was AWESOME! 1 pound cooked, cubed chicken 1 - can rotel tomato 1 - can or jar of mushrooms 1 - can Healthy Request cream of chicken soup 1 - package of whole wheat pasta (thin or angel hair) 6 oz - cubed 2% milk velvetta cheese (half the fat & calories of regular velvetta & tastes the same) Just boil & drain the pasta. Add the cheese & soup while the pasta is still warm (it helps melt the cheese). Then mix in the chicken, rotel & mushrooms... voila dinner is served! Seriously, it tasted exactly the same as my old receipe! Yesterday, the focus went back to watching portion control and upping my water intake. Tonight, we are hitting the gym whether D likes it or not ![]() Meals planned for the day today... Breakfast: multigrain cheerios with 2% milk a banana and a small sugar free vanilla iced coffe Lunch: tuna salad on a wrap with lettuce & tomato apple slices & grapes Dinner: grilled boneless pork chops grilled zuchinni baked sweet potato for me (plain potato for D) and a LIGHT ceaser salad |
