Betty Page Reveals All.
Documentary about one of the 20th century's most famous pin-ups. Interesting and she was hot. Love the black pageboy hairdo with the bangs. Netflix.

I hit up Redbox today!
It was sweet and actually had a message in it. There were a few unexpected funny bits in it too. It's no Shawshank but it's good. I was very, very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I didn't expect much, Jason Bateman not only stars in it but he directed and produced it as well and it's really smartly done. Fantastically so. I loved it. |

The Rover with Guy Pearce
The Rover is a 2014 Australian drama film written and directed by David Michôd and based on a story by Michôd and Joel Edgerton. It is a contemporary western taking place in the Australian outback, ten years after a global economic collapse(Wikipedia) My GF and I felt that it was very slow in parts. It did remind me of a modern-day Mad Max.

Today was a busy movie day!
I saw and was, again, pleasantly surprised. Jason Bateman is in this one too and I'd forgotten that. He's turned into quite the talented actor through the years. He does emotionally vacant especially well. and then I saw Apparently, it does not hold with the book but that's fine as I did not read the book. I was a bit annoyed at the ending but I won't spoil anything for anyone. I also wound up raiding a Redbox and watching this and I enjoyed it quite a bit. For a movie about football, it was pretty cerebral. The only thing I didn't feel was copacetic was the connection between Costner and Garner. They were great individually but it was hard to buy them as baby makers. All in all, it was a good cinema day for me. |

From the library I got Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore
I WANTED to like it and it wasn't awful. They both do their own singing...very well I might add. It just wasn't terrific.

I saw this yesterday.
Visually, it was epic as expected. The storyline was fairly formulaic but it wasn't boring if you like this kind of stuff. The surprise for me came from Stanley Tucci, who played scientist Joshua Royce. He had the best and funniest lines. Besides the introduction of the Dinobots, he was the best part for me. Today, I saw this movie. It was as I expected. I saw it in 3D, which was okay, but I think that regular would have been fine too. This movie falls victim to something that's happening to a lot of new movies over the past few years. The trailers are revealing too much of the storyline. There was only one twist that I didn't see coming from the trailer and it was good, but I wish more had been left to the imagination in the trailer. If you see it, stick around until all the credits run. |

I'm a foodie. A foodie-lifer, in fact. My whole life has revolved around food. My mother was French. My father, a restaurateur. So, I was really interested in this film.
Chef had great potential. There are some poignant scenes, for sure. It's hard to make a film about chefs, I think, without there being a subtext for enhanced storytelling. The subtext here is the genesis of food trucks and how social media made them what they are in culture. Then, eventually, back to bricks and mortar. I don't know how much Twitter invested or paid for this film. But, I'm willing to bet a lot since it's as much about them as it is about food. If you're interested in chefs, a good book about chefs, I think, anyway, is "Kitchen Confidential" - raw and honest. Cheers and tables! |

![]() Its nostalgia weekend. Redid Mary Poppins and Sound of Music. Also saw 2 new to me ones: Thoroughly Modern Millie - I might have enjoyed the music, flappers, and dancing if the undercurrent of the film wasnt about a hotel for single women who were targeted, drugged, and sold into "white slavery". Breakfast at Tiffany's - I liked this one, except the main characters name was Holly Golightly. It took a bit for the colonoscopy flashbacks to dissipate. Up next is My Fair Lady. |

I'm surprised, this is turning out to be one of my favorite Disney movies. Every time I watch it, I see new stuff and catch more jokes.

I saw this on Sunday
I was not aware that it was a religious movie but they didn't throw it in the audience's face too much. It was tolerable and cute. I saw this movie as well I absolutely love Adam and Drew, so this was true fun for me. Formulaic, sure. But still funny and still thoroughly enjoyable. |
