Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend! I have no sweets in my house and there won't be any; unless my roommate picks up some then I won't have any.

I cannot believe the reunion is in two weeks! I am super excited and cannot wait to walk around Little Rock and sight see!

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Hello Everyone!

Well done for every healthy step taken.

I've not checked in - in awhile; but I come in and have a read/catch up when I can; each of you has helped to keep me motivated and inspired by sharing your journey. Thank you very much.

I've lost about 15lbs in the past 2 and a half months. I'm averaging a little more than 5lbs a month; it is slow progress but it is progress none the less and I'm proud.

I haven't been fabulous about keeping up with WW-online. I was meticulous in recording everything for the first 6weeks and then over the course of the last month I've grown lazy with it.

I do want to get back on track with WW, because I know it is a very helpful tool for me...when I make myself accountable for everything I eat and I drink - I definitely make better choices.

I have, however, persisted with my couch25k running program. (out of sheer stubbornness and pride)
I've been taking it slowly and repeating runs when I feel I haven't "gotten it" yet. Last week I was absolutely dreading the last run of the week (W5, D3) - 20minutes straight through, no walking interval.
I ran D1 and D2 each two times over because I was procrastinating the 20minute run. And then... I DID IT!
I couldn't believe it. And it wasn't even as difficult as I had anticipated. It was very challenging and I did it. That is an amazing feeling.

Now I need to be more consistent with the running (I'm running every 3 days on average right now); I'd like to be running every other day and doing some other gentler exercise on the off days. Soon, I will transition to a gym membership for the winter months, I'm looking forward to working out in a climate controlled environment, off the pavement and I'm really looking forward to taking some classes (I do well in a structured environment).

So, I've come in here to state my short term goals for the next few months:
Track food/drink on WW more consistently, run more frequently and try to do some gentle strength-building exercise on non-running days.

Hey all,

Started my day watching the sunrise while I was on my beach walk, great way to start the day.

I have gotten to know quite a few folks who also do beach training for a variety of things over the last few months, it takes a while to earn their respect, but once you’ve got it they are really great about being encouraging.

There is one fellow who is out there 3-4 times a week training small groups of athletes 3-6 at a time. I just know him as coach Kenny and he has been really nice about noticing changes in me and giving a shout out whenever I go by. Sometimes, like with the other people we’ll stop and chat for a bit, it’s interesting to get to know folks over time that way.

Imagine my surprise today when I found out he is actually an Olympic gold medalist (triple jump) with a record that still stands after 16 years! He has a private training facility across the bay for pro football and basketball players.

I know it’s a bit of a derail, but it seems I’m in pretty good company out there.

Getting back on track, this Nordic walking I’m doing is really something else. I’ve added 600 cal per day to my eating plan and the weight keeps coming off at the same rate, so I guess I’m doing it right.

Everybody keep up the great work!

Good morning!

The in-laws were in town over the weekend, and I just couldn't manage them AND my 30-day challenge. I'm bummed about that.

I did resume my cardio yesterday and am back at it. We're going on a working vacation next week, so I'll start up my challenge again when we return.

I've still managed 24 out of 27 days though, and that's not too shabby!

I'm anxious to see how all of this impacts all my bloodwork. Since I've been on T, my cholesterol has been on the high end of normal/low end of high; I have a good feeling it will be much better now!

My doc also ordered tests on all thyroid functions. Curious about that...

That's about it for now. Wishing everyone a wonderful day and continued successes...

Soooo... I had for lunch... which I love!! However, I don't know how many points they are. Does anyone? I am sure I could find it on line, but I really like the wonderful resource we have here.

I did track all weekend. I lost one night. I drank a glass of wine, realized my date was not going to get any better...so just kept drinking. Three glasses and a cab later, I was home, tipsy, but hell the world was much brighter!!! I will take those 16 points (rounded up for honesty) and just work them off at the gym this week. I avoided all the high fat speed foods where I was storytelling this weekend. Was not all that hard, being a vegetarian comes in handy sometimes .

Did Zumba last night, have interval training tonite so I will nice and tired when I go to bed.

Interesting the talk on sleep. I don't sleep much. Never have. However, I am also not unaware of the troubles that can cause in weight maintenance and sanity. I have tried. But with the onset of menopause I sleep even less. And what is worse, I cannot fall asleep. That was never my problem. I could always fall asleep when I wanted to and be just fine. Now I lay there and wonder when it will finally take me. I have tried melatonin, but I can't wake up on it.

Ahhhh well. I have written a book - again. So.... if anyone has ideas about I would be happy to hear them.

I LOVE sushi, too! Like you, it's hard to find any way to figure out WW points, because all restaurants are different. Here is a website that might help give you a lil' help trying to figure it out (or at least give you a rough guesstimate) of some of the rolls you might like.

Default Gross Foot remark do not read if easily grossed out

Why Thank You Miss PinkieLee!! I rounded up to 8 points for my spicy tuna roll. And that is another 24g of Protein. WhoooHoooo.... I am feeling good.

In other news: This week I put on two pair of pants I had in my closet that I had forgotten about. (My mind trick, if I don't see them, try them on and realize they are too small I won't be depressed <that day>). I put them on, one is too big and goes back to the Goodwill from whenst they came. And the other pair... are loose!! WhhhoooHoooo.

I went to the doctor to get a diagnosis for the skin issue I am having on my heel. It has bothered me since June. Lots of pain, lots of split heel...lots and lots of natural healing remedies...to no avail. The foot stumped the skin specialist. He took a good chunk out of my skin and made my poor little foot bleed. My dilemma, if I go to interval training my split foot will split more...possibly. If I don't go will I guilt myself out for being a pussy? If I do go will I totally regret it tomorrow?? And not be able to do weights tomorrow and possibly Zumba on Thursday??

I know you prefer natural remedies and whatnot, but have you tried New Skin? It will burn like Hell when you put it on, but once it's sealed, it will hold the split skin together for a while.

I've used it when I've had split lips (try to go through the day without moving your lips....it was torture!) and it kept me in one piece, while allowing the skin to heal under the seal. Reapply as needed and keep in mind that the worse and deeper the cut or split is, the more it burns. So, it will burn less as your heels heal.

Gemme!! Thank you for being kind and sharing a healing thought with me. I did try New Skin and it did help the split. I was grateful. The pharmacist recommended that to me. However, the skin on my heel continues to flake, peel and crack. When the skin does grow back over, it is like a bubble. Not solidly connected to the skin underneath it (if that makes sense). The doc asked me NOT to treat it for the next two weeks until I see him again. I am not looking forward to that at all. It hurts.

I seriously thought I would be able to go in to see him. He would go "oh you have ____" and voila magic cream and I would skip (kinda) to my car all happy and stuff. Yeah No.

I did not go to the gym last night. I was very grateful I did not. I had a patient at 7 and standing on my foot for 1.5 hours while I worked on her, hurt like the dickens. I can only imagine if I had gone to the gym and irritated it more.

I will officially stop whining as of....NOW

Good morning & happy Wednesday healthy peeps!

Well, last night I bit the bullet and started trying on clothes for the Reunion in two weeks. I was pretty bummed 2 weeks ago, when I bought a killer corset off eBay, only to find out the damn thing didn't fit. Anyway, I tried it on again, and although it doesn't fit the way I want it to... I could actually wear the damn thing! I got excited and started pulling out old clothes that I haven't been able to wear, and smiled as each & every piece actually fit!

So, although my original plan didn't work out, I now have a lot more options of clothes to wear from my own closet Hey, the scale might not be showing big losses right now... but if my clothes are getting baggier, than I'm a happy girl!

As for now, I'm just watching what I eat and trying my best to get in exercise whenever I can. I really wanted to start trying to exercise first thing in the morning... but the snooze button has been my longtime friend

Meals planned for today....

Breakfast:
peanut butter & jelly sandwich on a deli thin
a banana

Lunch out with my mom today:
veggie stir fry
brown rice

Dinner we are firing up the grill:
grilled chicken
mushroom rice
corn on the cob
spinach salad with avacado slices

Snack:
WW string cheese
100 calorie pack of almonds
and/or yogurt

Thanks for the link Pinkie! Not bad at all for sushi lovers, considering the whole roll.

Earlier this year I was doing WW and, I know everyone is goning to laugh at me but, the Wii Fit with the Biggest Loser Challenge game. It was working as I had lost about 20 lbs. Unfortunately, there were family issues that I had to attend to which in turn stressed me out and I quit doing all of those things. So, I'm getting back in the saddle and started it back up again. Also, taking the dog for long walks helped me too.
