I took the left over grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese and tomato and put it in the penni press and tossed some pasta salad on the plate as well.

Let me just preface this by saying....
I never ever EVER Evereat "gas station" food. Like the hot dogs and nachos and such... WELL... Today I was driving home from the city and had to stop for gas. This gas station is like the ones I saw once in PA...they have made to order food, milkshakes you name it. (They also have amazing smelling brewed teas as well as coffee...squeeeee!!) So, I'm particularly peckish. The prepackaged stuff looks meh and I'm passing the hot dogs and taquitos (YES! Taquitos!<3) and there's at least four kinds of hot dogs...and it's starting to whittle at me how hungry I am...when suddenly I see it...a cheddar jalapeno hot dog...sigh... I didn't have the first idea how to even procure gas station food. Luckily it's very logically and obviously organized for newbies like me...and late night drunks I suspect. So I grabbed my bun and got some goods. Helloooo toppings The assortment is amazing but I stayed with the basics: pickles, kraut and jalapenos...cuz you can never have too much of a good thing... In my zeal I forgot condiments and found them AFTER I loaded up on the extras... Lunch for $1.33. Can't beat that with a stick

I made late lunch/early dinner.
I'm so hooked on the rice patties I made. I had to figure out something to do with the over cooked rice I made.... I put a blotch in the bowl, seasoned it with curry and garlic and herbs, formed patties and fried til light brown in olive oil. On the plate I put dollops of black bean mash (seasoned with cumin, roasted tomatoes and bacon, a product no longer being sold I hear) I set the rice patties on top of the beans, which warmed them sufficiently, topped the patties with fresh chives from the garden and it was SOoo good. I ate like a field hand lol

Chipotles today.
Will have the salad bowl with lots of lettuce, cubed beef, green peppers, onions, mild salsa, black beans, maybe some guacamole (I'd love some sour cream, but am skipping that today), the chipotle dressing. Glass of lemon water. |
