I saw this tonight. It officially opens tomorrow but my theatre had a couple of evening showings tonight so I jumped at it. Good call!
I like Melissa McCarthy anyway but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The lady behind me and to the right also seemed to enjoy it according to her snorts and cackles.  Jason Statham was funnier than I've seen him before. He still kicked a little bit of ass but was more funny than kickass. It was a nice change. If you go see it, stay through the WHOLE thing, until all of the credits have run. |

I watched this movie earlier today:
It was okay. It's a B class movie and the acting is not stellar. I did enjoy the revenge aspect of it though and it was interesting having a hearing impaired heroine. It was annoying, however, that people kept referring to her as mute and she wasn't. I'm currently listening to the SpongeBob movie. Since I didn't actually watch all of it, I can't say much but it was fun to have in the background. |

I watched both of these yesterday.
Excellent visual smorgasbord of dino stuffs and I learned a new trick to hide my scent for when I'm being hunted by one. Rawr. This was a good movie but it disturbed me at certain parts, especially how Chappie was treated as he was learning how to process his world. It mimicked the patterns of an abusive household with a child in it and when he was attacked and then attacked again, I actually had to get up and walk away from the TV for a minute. That was a surprise to me. Thankfully, things took a turn for the better. One thing that I noticed is that in these movies there were 3 actors who typically play good guy roles (a detective, an FBI psychologist and Wolverine) and they played against the type here I did not like that. I like my good guys good and my bad guys dead.
