I am STOKED to see the discussion here. It's been way too long since I've taken a look around here as well and it's mostly just life stuff getting in the way. (bad Admin, bad bad bad BAD!)

So, a couple of things I want to run by you folks and get your input:

1. The gallery - Our gallery software is fried. The company I bought it from 12 years ago is out of business and hadn't updated in years and that software was not only not secure but is not compatible with our new level of server security. I have the photos - they are not gone! It will just be a slow process to resurrect them in some way that will allow folks to grab their photos. Im still figuring that out and it will be extremely time consuming but I'm committed to doing it.

Until then, I will be ALLOWING personal photos in GALLERY THREADS. I will begin creating those now and you are free to post photos in those threads as you wish (no nudity please! We end up on porn filters when there is nudity and I don't want that because it brings creepers!)

LINK HERE: http://www.butchfemmeplanet.com/foru...play.php?f=147

2. Chat room - I've had a couple of request for a chat room. Chat room software that will integrate with our site as it is now is just...undesireable. It's not that it *can't* happen, it's just that it's a giant pain in the asssssss. I know there are a chunk of folks who have felt a little pissy because I have put no effort into putting another chat room on this site and for that, I do apologize for the feelings. I guess I'm asking if folks would use one?

3. I feel like it might be a good time to revamp the rules on the site. I did that a few years back and basically was just like "don't be an asshole". Our rules here got SO fucking restrictive when we had more folks using the site because people LOVEEEE to test boundaries (like posting pictures of dead bodies and doxxing personal info and claiming that I, personally, "broke into their PayPal account LOLOL) but I feel like the "don't be an asshole" rule is a good one. I feel like people should be allowed to disagree and I'll be frank, people are adults here and should feel free to state their feelings without me (cause I aint nobody's Momma) coming in here and cyberslapping people.
I DO NOT want to foster an environment for bullying but I kinda feel like the user base is small enough now that we don't really need moderation all that much? Thoughts?

4. I miss the old discussions too. I miss some of the old faces. I miss the celebration of the dynamic. We are all getting old so I know some of us are just not using forums the same way but I sure do relish in some very good memories.

I'll be starting some threads pertaining to some shit JD and I have gone through in the last couple of years (aging parents, buying and selling houses, probating estates, dealing with a mean-ass crazy greedy vengeful unhealed toxic ex (I kid! I kid!), and preparing for old age with legal docs and such. I'll probably put those discussions in members-only forums so folks can share more private stuff if they wish and I hope to see some of you folks participate.

Again, I super appreciate the feedback from all of you. <3
Good Morning Medusa & JD,

I just want to express my appreciation and gratitude for the time and energy you put into the website so people can mingle and talk about life in ways that helps us all to grow as individuals and as a community.

I too have enjoyed participating in forum discussions on topics of concern and interest to us all. I remember forum threads like: Occupy Wallstreet, Permaculture, presidential and election forum threads and random forum threads for fluff and fun which turns out to be the most interesting way to learn about others who participate in our online community.

I would like to see moderation continue because guard rails concerning website expectations is necessary to the health and survival of the community at large. And, I definitely agree with your policy about not being an A$$hole. Calling out problematic issues in ways that solves problematic issues takes skilled language aptitude (s), but together as a community we can, to borrow from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, "Build Back Better."

Thanks for all you do and to all the members who contribute to community in thoughtful, kind ways. I appreciate the opportunity to be here and to enjoy community online.

~ Kštzchen

I post in an attempt to engage people and with the hope that others will be interested in an exchange of ideas. People don't have to agree with me, I just want them to share their perspective. As Thoreau said: "It's not what you look at that matters; it's what you see". Perspective is everything.

When people take the time to tell me what they think and why they think it, it has the potential to open up a whole different perspective for me. I like to understand every feasible angle to any issue or problem. I want to turn it inside out and shine a light in every corner.

I also want to understand people and talking to them is the best way I've found to do that. Of course watching them to see what they do is a great way to understand who they are, but talking to them will show you who they think they are.

For me, there is no point posting if no one is going to engage with me. I don't post so other people have something to read, although that is important too. That is the reason I come to this site even though I can no longer find people to exchange ideas with like in the "good ole days"(smiling at BullDog). I like to read what others have to say, it allows me to feel connected on some level to a butch-femme community. And nowadays that's hard to find. I find myself wondering where do all the young butches and femmes go to find connection? Are there any people who still identify with the butch-femme dynamic? Millennials and Gen Z how do they identify? Is butch as an identity no longer viable for young people? I love how gender is being challenged by many but I do feel a deep loss of community and this site is my lifeline so to speak.

I'm starting to think everyone should be repped for every post they make regardless of what they are posting about just for keeping this community alive. I worry there will come a day when I log on and no one will have said anything. That will be a very sad day indeed. I am so appreciative to everyone who posts here. And of course I am deeply grateful to Medusa for keeping this site going. Thank you.

I too miss the past with many more topical discussions, even if I just read them. I'm not sure what happened-sadly, some of our biggest posters passed away. I think the yearly/every other year Reunions kept the community going, as there was always the anticipation coming up and then the rehashing for a while after. Obviously, I understand why those aren't feasible anymore.

For myself, frankly, sexuality plays a very small part of my life now. I'm not in a place for a relationship, so the whole dynamic doesn't really apply to me. I also think I have diverged from the "norm" politically, economically, and socially and thus don't fit into the political posts here. There has always been a tendency to shut down people who were too different, and the last time I participated, it was a mistake. I just don't have it in me to argue why I believe X or Y.

I'm not out of here completely (obviously), but other interests and goals have taken priority.

I do agree I'm thankful for this site and I do hope it continues and hopefully grows again.

Default WonderingÖ.

This is more for admin but anyone feel free to respond.

I vaguely remember a number of years back the possibility of direct links to click on showing on either side banners of the home page. Is it possible, mostly due to the aging of a lot of members here to have a RIP or some other term as a link on the home page? So if we know of someone passing to post it, or even when signing in its a common place thats truly needed and where all can see and read. It surely would serve as someplace consistent that we all can access and use if needed. We all have touched peoples hearts and minds here, and I would see it as a form of respect.

* side note* Seeing the posts about meals and such when I initially hit the home page, does deter me - by choice - from signing in 98% of the time. Its not a complaint, just my 2 cents from my perspective. I am more concerned with who has passed on and saying my condolences

I hope you all are well, best to yinz!

Default Wondering if's...

IF: the gallery is not viable/sustainable, maybe remove the link?
IF: the new features are not viable/sustainable, maybe remove that link?
IF: the arcade features are not viable/sustainable, maybe remove that link as well?
IF: chat is not viable/sustainable, maybe remove that option as well

These were/remain:

*Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

These are a few of my favorite things.

My link/s may not be perfect when I post them, but I cherish the folks who do!

Thank you,

not2shygrrl

This is a fantastic callout, not2shygrrl!

I am still in the process of re-working some links and moving some things around but this would be a really timely and respectful way to honor past members.
I can create a page with a click-through link that will list the names and maybe a word or two about them if folks want to contribute. I think for my own sanity, I will create a thread so that people can help submit names because I really don't want to miss anyone.

I'll get to work on this. <3

My condolences on your foot fungus but it's likely better than your hoof and mouth.

Chat room is a main for me!

Also no matter how heated we get, as a community we need to try to be nicer, I'm seeing alot of death and people leaving the community because of all the hatred between us.

I started staying to myself after a few incidents on here and in real life, life should be somewhat fun, thought provoking not all this hatred!
