Fires
Firefighters are battling 21 major and deadly wildfires in central and northern California.
We lost a hero last Friday (a Firefighter and Engine Captain). I'm safe, but others aren't. We really could use some rain. Please keep us in your thoughts. |

71 degrees now. High of 86 today. Humidity is high now. It's supposed to drop a bit as the day progresses and then pop back up again after dark.
I hope there's a breeze today. Yesterday wasn't as bad as previous days due to the breeze. |

I'm slated to start a long road trip, on wednesday, from eastern Canada cross continent to California...I look at the weather maps and it's like a mine field of weather disasters no matter which route I choose.

Well folks, it's STILL raining in Florida...going on 2 weeks straight now. Many sections of Tampa Bay are under water, likewise out my way. The airport is closed for incoming flights until further notice. Just a couple of miles from me, over 300 people are under mandatory evacuation as of today. Streets are buckling. It's crazy! Hopefully this front that has been hanging over us will crank up and head out by tomorrow or Wednesday.
I wish we could send some of this water to the people in California. Ya'll stay safe out that way! Oh I thought I would share a pic of what Florida looks like now.

The weather folk said today was supposed to be cooler than yesterday. Yesterday it was 85. Today it is 87. Still dont understand that new math.  It humid. Windy. Storms are somewhere or coming or passing or north or south or intense or hit and miss or threat of tornados or........  I think they are just pulling stuff out of a hat or elsewhere. Hot and sticky. The kinda, sorta, maybe, hit or miss storms hit in waves this a.m. The thunder shook the windows, the lightening was impressive, the wind knocked out power and downed branches. Very little rain tho. |

Its been cloudy with a cool breeze all day and now its chilly tonight, I know some of you are sweltering and I should be glad its nice and cool but really...we have had maybe 2 weeks of hot sunny days this year so far,

If your area is flooding the streets with rain, please DON"T DRIVE in the flooded streets, it can cause your vehicle to stall out and you can also get water inside the engine and ruin it, and ruin the electrical system. Avoid driving in high water areas please.
Be safe. HOT AND HUMID AS ALL GET OUT HERE !!!! I can fry an egg on the hood of my truck !
