Hair
Hey, guys. In terms of product, it really depends on your hair type and the type of cut you have. This is not a one size fits all kind of thing. I have found that my stylist can usually point me in the right direction.
I personally love the Redken for Men products. Right now I go back and forth between using their fiber gum ("disrupt") and their molding paste ("work hard"). I love the scent of all their men's hair products. I also use one of their shampoos. I have quite a number of cowlicks, but my stylist is able to "cut those out" (as she calls it), so that even when my hair is growing out it grows out in such a way that they don't show up.

Thanks to both of you! Yes, the stylist is way important! But, I too, have made cuts in the hair-cut/products budget! I used to use a lot of Redkin and haven't in a long time. have to check them out again. I know I don't like my hair sticky/gooey. And I don't want to smell my hair product all day because it is strong. (But lots of this kind of stuff just makes me sneeze). LOL... as I said, I wish my hair was more corse but now that I think about it, I have had more than one woman want to touch my hair..... even when not dating them! Say it is soft. Guess so... I wish I wasn't so sensitive to scents (on me and others). I hate it when I am out with a date wearing a scent that gets me sneezing. And having to explain that when we go out again, it woud be great if she didn't wear whatever she has on! I like it when I see Scent Free on an ad about an event! |

This makes me think of what it was like here, too. But, I do usually get dappered-up when going out. I like to partner dance and the butches that go to these dances here do still dress-up in ties, etc. Of course, it seems like the age range is older at these overall. A lot of OFOS types. For the CW ones, its bolos and boots! I love the formal dances and have to say I wear my tux or tails tux quite a few times a year.

So in honor of spring, I bought about 4-5 nice pastel-colored shirts. (Well, my mom bought them for me as a gift.) I've liked shaking things up a bit from my usual navy/brown/dark green/etc colors. As I've posted several times, though, I feel like an Easter egg. But I've gotten pretty nice reviews on it, so worth it. Now, if only I could find a decent pair of black dress pants. Damn these hips!

Ladies shirts, but those that look unisex or masculine. Mens jumpers and polos will fit me, but not proper mens dress shirts... yet
Casual: Slogan/band/anime tee with cords, black trousers or jeans. Nothing feminine for me, just unisex or male stuff. Formal: Suit, shirt, waistcoat, tie. Again, nothing femme. I buy mens ties from places like Primark where they're good quality but cheap. There's a childrens formalwear shop at the shopping centre where I buy my formal neckwear. I'm looking to butch up my image in the coming weeks so I can gradually come out to the people I know and love |

I find that double pleated slacks work well for hips ... they seem to hang/drape better. I prefer pants with a full rise, though. They seem to look better on me and are more comfortable on my body.

For me its Jeans and a shirt. I mostly prefer band shirts or just a cool design. I like button downs and A shirts too. For shoes I prefer skate shoes or boots depending upon what I am doing.
If I need to dress up its usually slacks + button down & tie. Other times its just jeans and a polo since here in the Northwest most people are casual when they are dressy. |

"save money by spending a little more on a few items, this is a universal truth and don't buy every t-shirt known to man--you can't really wear them anywhere except for weekend errands, anyway."
I'm most fortunate that I can wear T shirts to work every day. I've lived casual so long that I have few things other than T-shirts, sweatshirts and jeans. The nicer pieces that I do have my sweetie picked out. |

Thinking that I still love the look and feel of 501's after all these years! My favorite casual, kicking around pants! But, I'm ordering some of those jeans to wear with suspenders that Jack posted the link too. Way Kewl! I finally bought some new western boots, mainly for CW & swing dancing. I forgot how good a well-made boot can feel! Haven't worn western boots since I was a teenager and had a horse! But, I tried on many styles, heel height and slant and brands- took me a few months to finally settle on a pair. Breaking them in! So far, so good! |

I usually go all out, white shirt, cuff links, tie, vest, and a nice pair of pants, that is if I'm not in a suit. I know that some people find me flamboyant but I don't care...And also I like the attention I get from women, who always likes a butch well dressed, then there's different styles of course, but this is how I dress...

Just found a shop, which is also on EBay, that has some really good prices on great merchandise. Crazy, fun name: Wizard of Aahs. Maybe this was posted somewhere already? Anyway, here's the link: http://www.thewizardofaahs.com/ Great fabric, Italian and other Euro styling. And, I can find a "normal" or high rise pant here. I do not care for the "waist" at my hips ... I'm too tall for that and high waisted, so it just isn't comfortable for me in those low rise pants. They also make me walk funny |

Daily, I tend towards jeans, lower rise Gap or Levi's, a mid to thicker belt, sometimes grommets (buckle matters, not tiny or delicate), tees or graphic tees, long sleeve or short. Boot's mostly, ankle boots, hikers, but sometimes my fav pair of suede black vans (like 10 years old lol).
I hate the "new" graphics- swirly, sculls and guitars trend, I way not big on trends, I won't wear a graphic that I wouldn't have believed in or said myself... in other words I wouldn't wear a Bob Marley T shirt unless I loved Bob Marley's music. If it says something it has to mean something to me, like Triumph motorcycles, my MN Vikings jersey or something I enjoy real-life. No souvenir shirts. I like leather jackets, motorcycle styles but not really the classic 50's "biker jacket" (though I've owned more than one in my early life) but more hybrids.... I love a half classic half euro style. Some more dress. I like my watches in a black leather cuff style, no tiny faces... I always wear a big ass ring with a spectrolite gemstone that has some significant meaning to me. Um, body jewelery, a labret piercing and sm. (6g) ear grommet. I don't wear button-ups a lot, sometimes going out on the town or to a party but for the most part I'm not crazy about them- most of mine are black or have some additional "something" to add. Not crazy about polo's either... and no flannel what-so ever.... don't do loafers, Khaki's, shorts, sweat shirts and I hate frumpy or conservative (for myself). Really my daily styles been built around my activities and enjoyment, though a definite preference it's been as functional as anything else. I rarely wear suits unless absolutely called for, then pure black with a white shirt, light quality material, modern with a thinner black ties. I have my tux to wear where necessary. I do hats, not ball caps (except maybe fishing) but fedoras and I don't wear then with suits but w/ jeans most likely (though I do have an gray engineer cap I'm pretty fond of). I like good materials, and it's important that my clothes to fit properly, don't wear really loose or over-sized anything (or too tight). All in all though it may not look like it I'm extremely picky, my gf sometimes hates to shop with me because of it... lol. Wow I can ramble on about clothes... *clothes whore and I don't care *S* Metro ETA: My worst nightmare realized... 2008 Oakland B-F thingy, one of my suitcases didn't arrive and I had to go over a by a bunch of clothes at the local Goodwill... my heart died a little that day (lol).
