Have you ever read the book Perfume by Patrick Suskind? The lead character was a murderer with a very acute sense of smell. It gives some interesting descriptions of olfactory experiences.
I love the smell of sage and cedar and campfires and lilacs and saltwater...I'm very much emotionally tied to olfactory memories that wouldn't make sense so I won't even say.

Likes - Smell of a storm coming in (reminds me of my Dad)
A new box of crayons Roses and Gardenia (Real not fabricated smell) Fresh baked bread Yeast blooming (cause it means yummyness is to follow) Dislikes - Lingering cigarette smoke (when it's fresh I don't mind, but when it's on furniture, clothe, people, etc because they are chronic smokers-not so much.) When The Boy farts in the truck then hops out quickly laughing and closes me in with it. I think I read/heard somewhere once that smell is the biggest memory trigger. I can believe that. Love the smell of:
the unadulterated smell of a womans skin the lawn when I'm mowing it cooked bacon puppy breath the scent of a woman on me after sex trees when I'm cutting them down fried chicken open fire on a cold day burning sage cinnamon the ocean good cigar best I can afford whiskey to go with it. My fave smells:
leather freshly cut/sanded wood a woman's arousal oranges strawberries grass that's dryin' into hay, especially clover then hay once it's dried and baled soapy, very clean smells (not antiseptic) Believe it or not, I don't mind the smell of skunk, don't ask me why Smells I hate: acrid sharp smells bitter or sour smells plastic or hair burning smoke musks smells that are too sickly sweet - no jasmine or lilac for me, for example
