Family....?
There is two questions here....
1)How did your families take you coming out as transgender? 2)Is there anyone that has bio kids? If so, do you still have custody of them and how did they take it when you came out?

Owen, My family is severely disfunctional. My siblings and nieces & nephews love me, but just don't get it. My parents are too rigid. Both my mother and father tell me that I am a failure, fat, and stupid. I think it would kill them to utter a kind word to me or about me. It is just them. I forgive them, and move on. I wish you peace. Andrew |

Parents
My mom she basically said she loved me no matter what, but dont expect any help pysically or financially when I told her about me. However since then she did help find me a senior gender specialist social workers and was involved in a family meeting, and has driven me to doctors appointments in philly. If she wants to make me feel better shell call me by my choosen name, but rarely. She doesnt rele try either. and definately not by male pronouns.
My Dad was... upset. but in his defense he was kinda blind-sided. i mean literally i told my mom in our kitchen oneday and he walked in to get a drink and my mom blurted out "hunny how would you feel if Larrissa became a boy" he was dumbfounded and just simply left. He makes it a point sometimes when hes pissy to point out im not a bio-male. which sucks. but he did go to that family meeting i talked about earlier and actually asked questions. Thats about it though. he doesnt use male pronouns or even the choosen name. And he basically complains to my mom that I look ridiculous with a beard. It could be worse. I still have a home. The rest of my moms family tries rele hard to call me by my choosen name and use the right pronouns. They asked a lot of questions at first and that was it. Dads family basically avoids it at all costs. Sometimes there is an akward moment when they r trying to introduce me. its always interesting. Im only 22 and have no bio-child... yet...
