Gods Blessings
Keeping my truck going until I could afford to fix it, it was not a shade tree mechanic job. I didn't know it but my water pump was already starting to leak, the timing belt was still good Guiding my attorney who believe in Him, to make the right choices, to rattle my cage when needed and who guided me to a victory Gods never ending, unconditional love for His sometimes lost followers Gods watching over my Dad yet again as he had a very successful surgery Tuesday and though I never thought I'd be thankful for his orneriness, thank you God for that. Gods blessing me with yet another trip with my parents. I know they won't be around forever and each vacation with them though sometimes trying is still always filled with precious memories. One more... Thank you God for giving me parents who I have always known loved and supported me, even when I was a heathen as my Daddy says. I know a time will come when I don't have them with me anymore. But the things I've learned from them will stay a life time

Being sober which is allowing me to enjoy this job and the places I go. Having a wife who gave a damn enough to stick around instead of high tailing it before I got sober. Gratitude for:
1) My job. No other work challenges me this much or satisfies me more. Looking forward to another 15 years. 2) The people that work with me. They're the best of the best. 3) Fast thinking tech who called about "Ruby", a red point Siamese whose person brought her to the EC because she was mysteriously lethargic. Yes it's cute that Ruby will chase and eat grapes. Glad you got photos for your My Space or FB or whatever page. A dozen grapes later, Ruby's in full blown renal failure and your pictures might be the last you get. No grapes or raisins for your cat-folk. Nor your dog-folk. Nor your ferret-folk too. Unclear in hamsters, mice, rats, pot bellied pigs and rabbits because of increased inconsistency in results but why risk it? An inconsistent consequence isn't a non-existent consequence and no consequence is guaranteed reversible. 4) The smell of DKNY Be Delicious perfume on the sweater she borrowed. 5) The happy tail of "Louis" who gave me a dozen thumps or more before laying down to catch his breath. Good to see him more comfortable. A volunteer is hanging out with him until 10. Then I'll go in to spend the night with my iPad, a couple of books and a 140 lb Newfoundland with COPD and lung cancer who thinks he's a lap dog. No lie. He can have my lap if he wants. No one should miss the chance for a cuddle their last night on earth. Second hand smoke people. Think about it. * Other foods your fur-folk should avoid besides grapes and raisens: garlic, onions, chives, chocolate, caffeine, canned tuna, raw liver, Xylitol, avocados, nuts, apple cores, smoked meat or "jerky", banana peels, fat trimmed from meat or bones, spontaneous toys made of walnut shells or the pits from fruit like peaches, raw eggs, wild mushrooms, dairy, and - because it appears to need saying - NO BOOZE |

ATTENTION::: REDIRECT your Thoughts of Gratitude
As the OP of this thread, I'd just like to mention a couple of things. This thread was brought about to reflect on your God, or higher power and what you are thankful for in this world. I've seen very little gratitude given to God or your higher power to express your gratitude.
If you'd like to post here in this thread, then simply give some gratitude. It is not a "list your 5 things you like most" thread. There are other threads to list your 5 favorite things. Thank you.

I am very thankful to God for answered prayer and seeing this passage in action once again.
Ephesians 3:20 - Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. |

You did not, and you have just chastised some perfectly lovely ADULTS, myself included, who were showing gratitude for things they appreciated in their lives. In fact, in one of your posts on page one you mention being thankful for your car...not all that much different than being thankful for a box of chocolate. Off soap box |
