If you could only wear underwear that felt good to the touch or underwear that looked smashing on you, but never have both at the same time, what would you choose?
Soft*Silver
03-24-2010, 10:40 PM
that would depend on my purpose of wearing that underwear. If its to be comfortable and sensual, I would go for the one that felt good to the touch.
If I wanted to entice visually, it would be the one that looked great on me
could you tolerate a scent you hate if the person you love loves it, or would it be a deal breaker if she/he wouldnt stop wearing it?

Had ta answer this one cause smell is a huge part of who I am. There is no scent that I hate. Everyone smells completely unique to me, even wearing the same cologne. I sometimes like the way a person's smell mixes with certain colognes better... but I wouldnt know unless the person already likes and wears it anyway.

The doctors demanded my family tell my grandmother she was dying.
I was chosen to do this. Why, I have no idea since she truly despised me.
We surrounded her bed and at that very moment she opened her eyes.
She made a comment about dreaming. I said, using names, "Grandma, your mother and your father, and your sons, and your husband are here to take care of you now. You're going to be with them."
She looked at me for a moment. I continued, "It's a warm day outside. Spring is going to be here any time now."
"Oh Good," she replied and smiled. She closed her eyes and never said another word again. She died that evening as my cousin and I each held her hand.

I think ALL children are "different". If you mean Gay...I knew I was attracted to girls from the age of about 11. We would play house and I always wanted to be the mom. I grew up and had a few encounters with other feminine women. I was around 38 when I discovered butches and from the first time I kissed my first butch it finally all fell into place. I am now exclusive with only masculine women.

I think test lab animals should be switched with prisoners. Let the prisoners be tested on since we are looking for results on humans anyhow. Give the animals clean cells, health care, food, recreation and let the prisoners be tested on.
Yes, I believe in the death penalty. If the prisoners died in labs like the animals do. Tortured daily and usually die years later a really slow, inhumane death.

I would most likely approach them if I believed others gossip about gossip but I would not "confront" them. Until I speak with a person, face to face, who is suppossedly gossiping about me, it is nothing but hearsay.
I would hope that by the past middle age that many of us are here, we would be past knee jerk reactions and use some of our life wisdom in such matters.

I will speak to someone directly, rather than behind their back, if there is an issue that needs addressing. I will definitely correct anything that effects my profession. The rest I dismiss, sadly, along with some loss of respect for them as humans.
I find there are those who enjoy gossiping, and those who don't. I prefer people who don't gossip, because it is a sign of integrity to me. I find people who really enjoy gossiping rarely care about the truth. They usually need to put others down in order to feel good about themselves. How attractive is that?

In regards to relationships, do you believe in second chances?
Here are some of my thoughts:
"Everything happens for a reason."
May never know the reason; and in the end it's really not necessary. Some happenings are building blocks, some are whole within themselves. All are there to learn a little bit more of what I want, what I need, and how I choose to respond.
"If it's meant to be."
Involves the belief in destiny. I've pondered this one for years and have found myself on both sides of the question.
"If you love someone, let them go..."
Unconditional love, the acceptance of what is, and the ability to live a joyful life regardless of the outcome.
Do I believe in second chances? Yes. I have been blessed with one.

I think all the important issues would be solved if everyone stopped thinking money and materialistic gains are more important than making the world better. I would spend 250 million on a housing initiative and get architects suppliers and local governments to contribute, and build tens or hundreds of thousands of homes/homesteads/dwellings worldwide to be given away. Taxes to be paid from trust in perpetuity.
I would buy several blocks surrounding me for 20 million and offer free houses to friends and artists and musicians and actors and filmmakers and writers that I like.
10 million to pay off all the debt of relatives and friends and pay off their mortgages and several private gifts.
200 million to vaccinate against preventable childhood illnesses.
50 million to the American Visionary Art Museum.
250 million to build and fund a small American Folk Art and Craft museum.
50 million for an 8mm and Super8 film archive.
20 million to the library of congress film archive.
100 million for an agency to assist women and LGBT refugees.

Brilliant re Ireland ... if you have the opportunity, let me be a tour guide for a day in Belfast. I work in London but I'm a Belfast boy (born there and lived there for over 30 of my 35 years) and back there every few weeks. Most tourists / visitors from overseas do Dublin (over-rated city) and the west coast (beautiful scenery and great people) but ignore the harsher, northern part which has beauty, harshness and tears mixed together.
If you do intend to, or would like to, go north, let me know.

Assuming that said mall had any store to choose from, that's easy: a bookstore, a music store (both for CD's and sheet music), Lush or B&BW, and a kitchen gadget store. Then to a great restaurant in said mall (sometimes they do exist), to peruse my bookstore findings.

the happiest time in my life is something weird so maybe it doesnt fit the specs of the question the way other answers might. it happened a few days ago when i was in the middle of a deep hurt about missin my dad and missin some really important people and it sort of broke into my head that i was gonna survive and everything was gonna be ok. i dont know if it qualifies as the "happiest" time of my entire life or not. sure is the happiest thing on the horizon. i'm feeling pretty positive about actually finally felling like i'm gonna make it and things will be fine eventually.

despite several external invitations (and one or two internal ones as well) to feel contrariwise about things, i'm enjoying a moment of awareness that is lush in a personal way. i'm getting to know myself again and it's like meeting someone you've read about and know through that reading but have never met. confusing circumstances followed by tragedy convinced me to live without certain parts of myself for a while (no one to blame but myself) and i turned into someone i didnt know and later discovered that i really didnt like. G*d offered me the chance to perform a mitzvah and accepting that opportunity somehow begat this trip which has been better for me than any therapy or confidante has ever been (all respect to the confidants in my life). i'm alone more often than i am with people and when i'm with people they are never people who know me with one exception of an old friend that i'm touching base with right now. no one has any expectation of who i am and in some ways i dont have any expectations either. i can meet each moment with slow awareness and honesty and i am not afraid to be either whereas i was always sort of holding back in my previous lives for fear of rocking boats or losing my footing. now i think that lost footing and boats that rock are myths we scare ourselves with because it's easier to be afraid than to take risks. now every time i find myself beginning to step back from a healthy risk i find myself saying "really? that's who you are? that's who you want to be in the world?" i'm enjoying the risk of knowing myself fully and being thrilled or disappointed or confused or whatever i am in that moment and not worrying about anything but how i feel about those things and what they mean to me rather than what they mean to anyone else.

what real circumstances in your life scare you the most?
There are a couple....primary is that I'm diabetic and have been (evidently) since my early 20s even though it wasn't discovered and treated until my mid-30s. I'm stable and fine now on oral meds, but I am genuinely worried about the future. Reality is that, even with good management, this is a progressive disease and my father's side of the family (which I genetically take after) is rife with diabetics having major complications. I worry about going blind, or losing my feet....and also have real issues with taking care of them the way I should when it involves asking for help. I'm working on that....but it's a real fear.
Secondary is that I have no living parents and no "close" family. So...if the shit hits the fan I have friends to lean on, and that's it. I have many cousins, which I am working to get to know better....but it's not like I could move in with any of them if I was out of work and having a health crisis. So....I am the provider for my son and I need to work....given the economy and the diabetes....this is a little scary as well.
Now....for you (whoever you may be)....if you could go back and make one key decision differently, what would you decide?

Question: If you could go back and make one key decision differently, what would you decide?
Answer: I think I never would have moved to KY from MN almost six years ago. It's not like I had a whole lot going on there before I moved, but my family is still up there, and it's not like I can get in the car on a weekend and drive up. I'm asked every now and again why I don't move back, but having to start completely over - trying to find a job and an apartment - is a daunting task and not one that I would look forward to.

right now? i think so. i havent always but i also havent always known i wasnt living authentically until something happened to change my perspective. and sometimes i just did what i wanted to do without thinking of anyone but myself. i've recently experienced a pretty significant internal change and part of what i would have called my "identity" has been stripped away. so i feel a little lacking in the authenticity department. but otherwise, yes. moreso now than every before. i'm gonna get right up on the unpopular bandwagon and say i dont like it much either. if i'd been more authentic before now i wouldnt be here with missing parts. if i'd been more authentic before now other people wouldnt have missing parts because of me. all in all not much to say for myself. but i'm not down for the count yet.

He is sincere to me in every thing he says and does.
He always lets me know he loves me unconditioanlly and he is there for me any day or night. There is no passion or romance at all. It is actually a deeper love than that. He is not part of my family but it feels like he could be my brother or a relative of mine.
He is only 49 years old and the Dr. gives him less than 2 months to live. I am really going to miss him. I have been taking care of him for the past year and a half. Hospice is coming in tomorrow. It should give me a break.
I have learned how important trust and communication is from him. And the rewards of loving and forgiving unconditionally without trying. It just all flows
naturally.

My automatic response to the unendurable is to try to endure it.

A woman I care a lot about. I told her I couldn't continue with what we had under the circumstances we have.
What names do you love to be called?

What names do you love to be called?
-babygirl (i see it as an acknowledgment of who i am more than anything else)
- s***t***y (something someone else used to call me. no, it's not dirty. it's just personal)
-*** (the name my dad used to call me)
do you call random strangers "Dear", "Hon", "Sweetie" or whatever and, if so, WHY?!?!?! (finding this east coast phenomenon a difficult thing to cope with)

[QUOTE=Nomad;663308]Question: What is your favorite food?
I have MANY favorite foods.
I love breakfast foods - anything with bacon is a treat!
I am the kind of person who has a favorite food at every restaurant I go to. At Outback Steakhouse, its the Victoria's Filet. At Olive Garden, it is the Fettuccini Alfredo. At McDonalds, its the cheeseburger with no mustard.
I love things like cheese sandwiches, oatmeal cookies and above all else a Coca-Cola. Sometimes my meal will consist only of a Coke and that is perfectly fine with me cause I'd rather have one as to not!!!
QUESTION: Whats your favorite sports team?
Thanks,

Are you capable of saying you are sorry ?
No one answered this one. Yes, as a matter of fact, as a consequence of growing up in a home where everything was my fault or I was scapegoated for it; I tend to apologize too much-even when something is not actually my fault.
True or false: have you ever faked an orgasm and why?

True or false: have you ever faked an orgasm and why?
of course. why? because i'm a woman and it's practically required by my culture that a woman never bruise the ego of someone who has no idea how to blow her skirt up. (and G*d forbid you should offer them help)
have you ever faked interest in a partner's family?

I laughed when I read this because it is so true. Although now that I am older I have to say I don't bother.
have you ever faked interest in a partner's family?
No, I will be polite if needed, but I won't fake interest. I only had one partner this was really an issue with, I just never had anything to do with them.
Have you ever done something that shook your trust in yourself and how do/did you recover from that?

. Have you ever done something that shook your trust in yourself and how do/did you recover from that?
yes. and i havent recovered. sometimes we dont recover, we just adapt to the shift in our perception of ourselves. when we cant adapt or learn to embrace the truth about ourselves we're forced to choose survival rather than living. in the last 2 months i've discovered that the choices i've made have insured my survival but not an actual life. that truth is more painful and more disconcerting than my original mistake. an interesting study in karma. put another way, i got what i deserve.
have you found that you are more or less tolerant as you get older? why do you think that is?
I think it depends on the situation, really. But lately, I find myself more tolerant. Why? Because its just not worth it sometime, I think why would I bother to let myself get all worked up over something that probably won't matter next week.

yes. and i'm not sure i have. recovered, that is. sometimes i dont think we always do recover. sometimes we just adapt to the shift in our perception of ourselves. and sometimes i suppose we dont.
have you found that you are more or less tolerant as you get older? why do you think that is?
Tolerant....more. Picky....much more. I seem to find annoying things and behaviors alot more as I have gotten older. But....I tend to step back and think what has made this person the way they are. And be more accepting of whatever it is that annoys me. I've come to realize that my way of thinking, apparently isn't the only way. I think it has just come with more exposure to differences AND an understanding that I have many flaws as well and that doesn't make me "less than".
Have you ever taken a friendship to the next level, then been able to recover the friendship because you probably should have just been friends all along?

Less tolerant of BS... Because as I age it becomes ever more apparent that time is finite. I want to spend as much of that time as possible with those who treat me and my loved ones authentically and with respect.

No. Tried, always ended up being awkward for someone or another.
