Ooooo, good question! I *think* I would like to live in close proximity to an ocean. So, perhaps California or New England. My house would be fairly contemporary, so, modern with a vintage flare, but not so modern that it feels untouchable. It would have high ceilings, no carpet ANYWHERE, preferably poured concrete floors throughout, as many floor to ceiling windows as possible for maximum sunlight, a large master suite with an adjacent balcony, en-suite, and beehive fireplace. It doesn't need to be a huge home and honestly, I want each room to be a frequently used space - no rooms that just sit there waiting for company. So, maybe 3 bedrooms at the most. I'd also love a library and perhaps a dedicated exercise room. I have a thing for hallways, too, so lots of long hallways with wall space for my amateur art collection. I also love window-seats, so a couple of those as well.
This could go on and on, so I better stop there. :)

It would be built somewhere in the PNW, two story house with a finished basement, a few fire places, built in hot tub jacuzzi, modern kitchen, a room that has ceiling to floor book shelves, perfect lighting, sound proofed, computer, TV, sound system, furnished in a rustic woodsy decor with fireplace, and the house would have an outside porch that surrounds it on all sides.
My home would be surrounded by trees, fresh air, a dog of course and a stream, lake of some sort. The seasons of the year would be apparent. No sameness year round.

Have you ever had someone confess unrequieted love for you? How did you handle it?

Yes I was totally honest as soon as I realized the situation and my feelings. I never want to use anyone or lead anyone on even for one day. I was as gentle and honest as one could be in those cases. Luckily for me the few times it has happened the women where very sweet very mature and handled the whole uncomfortable situation wonderfully.

what old messages play in your head?

what old messages play in your head?
It depends... Are we talking about things we learned from, or messages from others?
One of the biggest thing that I've held dear is a kindergarten teachers message to the class one morning of "Remember kids, this is a playground. You may not like everyone on it, but you still need to play nice."
Another message I remember very clearly is a VM that came. I was too busy to answer the phone that morning. Too busy with what? Seriously... I kick myself. I was making coffee, and thought I could chat later. That was the last VM I ever got. The person died that day. They had called to say hello, and wanted to tell me what was on their mind that they had been thinking about... To this day, I wonder what those thoughts were.
TTT- If you could push a button, and someone somewhere in the world would die (who is not connected to you through family/friends) in exchange for $1,000,000.00, would you? (Yes... this is from the movie)
What goes around comes around. No guts no glory. You are only as good as your word. Never surrender of your own free will. Lead by example. You can have anything you want if you want it bad enough.

I had been thinking of trying it again recently and then a couple weeks ago I was taken by ambulance to ER from my store. the day my father had his last heart attack he was in a coma in a hospital several hours away from where i was living at that time. i made his girl friend hold the phone up to his ear and i told him what i wanted him to know --- that he was the best father any child could have ever hoped for, that i was grateful to him for saving my life, that he was the best thing that ever happened to me, and that he didnt have to wait for me to get there if he needed to go now. what i should have said was that i was sorry for missing father's day, and his birthday and all the other days i missed because i was somewhere else. and i should have said all those thing while he was alive.
what would you/will you say to the love of your life as soon as you have the chance?

No, nothing good will come out from eavesdropping
One of the things I like about crowds is being able to eavesdrop. I like hearing snippets of conversations as I walk down a NYC street or ride the subway. Or at a festival or even in a bookstore.... and flea markets are the best! LOL
Would you defend your friend, even if you know your friend is at fault.
No, but I'd gently or lovingly try to point out the error. Most of my friends would want that, but not all of them. LOL
Have you told someone you didn't care when you really did.

Have you ever told a good friend their partner was cheating on them?
Yes, I did. It turned out that she was more or less aware of this but tried to "ignore it"; she continued doing so for a while but then she had enough and ended this relationship. My initial thought when I decided to speak with her was, that I in her shoes would prefer to know instead of being left in the dark.
Have you ever imagined as child that your family is not your real family but that your origin is somewhat mysterious?

No, but I have been mistaken.
Have you ever broken a window?
No, but I have been mistaken.
Have you ever broken a window?

Have you ever loved someone but it's been too complicated to love them?

No
Have you ever been so fond of someone who is often telling you they love you that you have been compelled to say it back to them even though you didn't feel you yourself had got to that stage in the relationship yet ?

No, If she needs an explanation, she probably needs a different career path.
As an adult, have you ever played spin the bottle? Would you?

OMG YES, there is a place called Von's 1000 Spirits in Seattle right on First Ave and on my very first visit there I was craving a salad.......they didn't offer just a dinner salad but something called Von's Signature Salad. Lettuce, dried cranberries, candies walnuts, hunks of blue cheese, can't remember what all else it had but I was so very skeptical about ordering it! Well low and behold it turned out to be W O N D E R F U L..........I always stuck with that whenever I dined there afterwards
Have you ever sent anything back to the kitchen when dining out?

Yes, I have. I like meat to be NOT too rare. I like it tenderly roasted yet not over cooked.
Von's sounds like a really good place to dine! :balloon:

I want to say that I've played hooky to watch a brand new film at the theater, and I might have years ago, but I can't recall if I have. It sounds like something I would do, tho
Have you ever been disappointed about a movie that it upset you to pay a frivolous amount of money to see it???

No not really, before I go see a movie I learn as much as possible about it :movieguy:
Have you ever had to change seats to avoid a loud mouth who just won't stop talking throughout a movie?

Not yet, but I would most likely move to some other area if I could. I don't mind when the crowd gets a punch line and bursts out laughing, but I hear you about atypical pesky annoying behaviors.
What about dining experiences where it's close quarters: does it bug you when you people get nosy about what's going on at your table, rather than their's???

Well I am probably one of the few that does not mind going out to eat by themselves ........so seldom is anyone glancing over towards me , but I do like a nice quiet peaceful dining experience.
When dining out with a group from work, have you ever been stuck sitting next to your least favorite co-worker?

No, I can't think of a time I ever got seated by someone I didn't like or by someone who didn't like me.
Does it make you feel good to see someone do the right thing?
(Example: I recently saw a person scrape the side of a nice car...they were trying to park on a busy street. I wasn't sure if they were going to take off or what, but it made me feel good to see them do the right thing, leave their contact info, etc.)

Yes, it does, restores my faith in humanity (almost) ;)
What happened the last time you told a fib to get out of doing something ?
(example, I cancelled a non-urgent meeting last week because I was just too busy and stressed and not feeling up to going)!

The next person who tells me we can still be friends will be very grateful if we're not in the same physical room together.
