Landlord day!

Had new stainless steel fridge delivered to mother in law apt.

Took paint supplies,tools,shop vac and cleaning supplies to my unit in tri plex.

complete redo...bathroom,flooring and paint.

Then went outside at sunset to water the big tomato garden; filled up both huge water buckets for the goats; fed and watered kitties and (so far) one dog; cleaned and refilled hummingbird feeders; gathered one egg left behind by my two goofy chickens and discovered they were sleeping in the old goat house...came inside and crashed on the couch to cool down...am about to make my dinner of fried green tomatoes and fried patty pan squash with iced tea cooler.

I’ve got my son’s car, a full tank of fuel, money to burn for the first time in forever and wouldn’t you know I’m just too exhausted, beat to do thing one. I'm in the middle of nowhere at a retreat for breast cancer survivors. We are, among other things, learning how to fly fish. Last night after scheduled programming was over, was a late night chit chat in my hotel room with some new friends and some of the staff who will be training us in flyfishing tomorrow. I think tonight will include more of the same. It's a very mixed bag experience.

Staying in and working on craft stuff. Though I managed to get something done for the cd/dvd project it wasn't what I had in mind. However if I hadn't abandoned ship, gave up on fiddling with my original plan I'd have never made the deadline. It got me in under the wire but I still have all these labelless, full size discs stacked up that I don't want to see go to waste. I'm hoping to figure something out and then maybe later down the line include them as extras in a future swap. Also since it's cool out and the temperature should drop even lower still tonight, I'm thinking of making something pumpkiny to go along with this fall is in the air/up right around the bend weather.

We ate our favorite Vietnamese noodle house and then strolled downtown. I had parked my car there earlier with our folding chairs, there was a concert in the park. The weather was awesome. Thank you fall night. I was able to visit an antique store that was still open. There may or may not have been dancing in the street.

Hmmmm, I learned about Texas local music. Did you know there is a Texas country music station? I am going to seek that out! I love indie!

Then came home to make brownies before that call came in for him to go into work.

I walked around Weimar, Germany all day trying to get my bearings. Everything goes around and ends in a square! I am RIGHT in the central of this historic town, though, so I'm not complaining. We stopped for chicken and headed off to the park downtown. Another country band, the lead is in shorts. They have a replacement base player from a Kiss tribute band. They are fun to watch and sound good. We have been singing along.

Just in from dinner with some friends, some of whom I had not seen in person in over 15 years. Prior to that 15 year hiatus, we had some very very very good times together. Anyway, they're the kind of friends where we just pick up where we left off and love it up. There was laughter and ass slapping and the food was... ok. But the conversations were epic. First we had a lovely walk at the Biltmore estate. I helped non locals find nice places to take pictures :)

Then I embraced my inner Laura Ingalls as my friend likes to say. I went to a fiber festival and learned a ton about alpacas and spinning yarn and hand crafts...and I drove home on the parkway which is always an awesome thing to do in a day :)

Well hell, I had a fun-filled Saturday night. I was boiling a big pot of water on the stove trying to make pasta and my alarm went off for carbon monoxide. The alarm company called the fire department and I had 2 firetrucks and a bunch of guys show up. Turns out I am low on propane and making things act up, so now it's shut off until I call on Monday to get the propane tank filled. No hot water or cooking for me until then! Sharon from the police department has called twice to make sure I'm okay. Gotta luv small towns, lol.

I spent a little time on home organizing. We have a new room. We moved our library from the little library room downstairs to the landing area upstairs (old house/big landing/hang out area upstairs outside of the bedrooms) and now the old library needs a new face. So I'm making it into "The super groovy reading room/guest room". I got funky 70s style daybed frame and a bunch of little mirrors with the sunbeams sticking out of them (hard to describe) and am hanging them, some groovy artwork, putting groovy bedding on the bed. Origami stars beaded curtain in the doorway. Now heading to watch Stranger Things and craft. :hangloose:
