I JUST got my postcards today, they are addressed and they will go out in the mail tomorrow. I am so sorry I was so late, but I was very sick, so sick to the point of being hospitalized, from the corolla flu. I am very fortunate that I live in a touristy area and have no trouble finding postcards for the most part, but yes they are getting harder to find and I think it's due to cell phones having cameras in them...could be wrong but that's my theory and I'm sticking to it............

Yes, of course, go ahead and send them out! I don't think we really have rounds, I think we just keep going until we get tired of it. Anyone can drop out at any time. My only concern with having a theme is that it might be too specific. It's already pretty hard to find cards. But I am open to whatever everybody else wants to do.

I never thought of thrift shops- and someone else suggested buying them on Ebay which I had not thought of as well. Both great ideas. Finding a theme might be easier than I thought.

Just a tip...I was on Amazon last night and found alot of postcards and postcard books (books that house 30 postcards that can be mailed) with women as a subject.

ebay has quite a few choices too!

Navy, just so you know cards can always be homemade. In the past some have been very creative in fact and surpass store purchased IMHO

I actually was going to suggest that they all be mailed by June 7th...that gives people time to get their postcards in from shopping (media mail takes longer) and so people who are making them, have time.

I might send out two rounds associated with women by the time June 7th comes around...I have some cards already that are appropriate but I ordered some more that I just HAD to send.

I also think because of the theme, if we feel up to it, we could post photos of front of the cards we received. That way we can all enjoy the efforts...if thats ok. If some are for private viewing only, no need to post!

I went and bought My postcard stamps today- and the sets of cards that I bought from Amazon will be here on Thursday. The 4 that I purchased from Ebay will be trickling in- so I likely will just start with the ones from Amazon first. I bought enough postcard stamps to do 2 postcards per person for this round. Basically. It means that whoever Navy is is someone who was previously removed from the site for bad behavior and has come back under a guise. There are quite a few that do that. Thankfully, we have some good folks in charge and they get caught eventually.

Forgive the intrusion, I wouldn't normally be posting here as I am not taking part in the swap, however on reading the discussion which touched on identity issues I felt this may be relevant to me...

I was a member before known as Daisy Chain, I managed to lock myself out of my account with an email change, I did mail admin soon after but didnt get a reply, life took over and time passed but I found myself visiting as a guest so decided to rejoin, switching my old name about seemed like a good idea to keep some continuity. I didnt know I needed permission for this until reading Homoe`s post, my apologies to all. This may all sound like a long ramble {it probably is !} but I was a little concerned my rejoining and name change may come across as underhanded in some way after reading of other members `identity issues` so wished to clarify. Gemme raises a good point about `previously known as` so I will add that to my signature.

I have had no interaction with him at all, other than in BFP. I do not correspond with him on other sites. I do not know who he is suppose to be, and just know him as NB. I did talk to Medusa briefly about him, and was told he is suspected to be a former member who was timed out, but I have no idea why that member was timed out. I suggest you ask Ms Medusa about it if you have other inquiries.

I also want to state that anytime we "meet" people electronically that they can be who they present themselves to be...or could be anyone else. Act accordingly. I have met some very real and wonderful people on the internet. And some not so real ones. I only state the warning to be careful because people seemed worried about NB. My point is, if you dont know someone, you should ALWAYS use precaution. But without some risk, we might not ever meet the truly good people on the internet. Chose your actions. Act wisely. Enjoy but stay safe.

Yesterday I was putting together my "hold us over" women cards when I came down to NB's name. I'd not looked at the name before that moment and it seemed to be a very curious name. I Googled it and I'm now of the opinion that it's not his/her real name.

As Soft Silver rightly says... we have no idea why this person was banished. True! And... I have no idea why this person did not use his/her real name ... or what seems to be something other than his/her real name. Certainly there are legitimate reason for maintaining one's privacy but it's a bit odd to sign up for a postcard exchange and not use your real info while everyone else is using their real info. Of course... from what I can tell... from what I'm assuming anyway... everyone who's participating appears to be using a real info! :)

So, I was bout to send him/her a card until I noticed the name... Googled the name... and became suspicious of the name. I'm not sending him/her a card for the simple fact that he/she is not fully trusting us and that causes me concern.

I dropped my postcards off at the post office today, finally! I finished them a week and a half ago, but was crazy busy at work and then home sick so I hadn't been able to get to the post office.

I'm a little worried because it rained for hours today ... hopefully they get to you in one piece with everything still attached and not too worse for wear. Perhaps the rain will make the watercolor background that some of them have even better?!?

I remember a bar in Madison Wisconsin called the Back Door and that is where you went to enter the joint as well!

Most bar's front windows were boarded up. I guess they didn't want looky loo's peaking in or perhaps rocks tossed through them, I dunno!

I loved your card! I remember growing up in the 80's and it was hard being a lesbian or gay man here in Daytona Beach, Fl. There was one gay bar on the beachside of Daytona Beach and it was a white building.
