From AllMusic.com:

The collaborations between Sonny Rollins and any given trumpet player were few and far between, but they did include such notables as Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Clifford Brown, and in this case, his first tandem partnership with Kenny Dorham. At the time, both of them were also members of the Max Roach Quintet, and thus quite familiar with each other's strengths. Add to the mix drummer Art Blakey, bassist Percy Heath, and emerging modern jazz pianist Elmo Hope, and this shapes up to be one of the more potent combos of 1954. It's pretty straightforward music featuring Rollins, with little involvement from Dorham except solos. The fast title track, based on the changes of "Donna Lee" or "Indiana," has the briefest melody line before Rollins leaps into eighth-note madness, while the very fleet "Swingin' for Bumsy" does the same, repeating the slimmest phrase three times. An all-time classic, "Solid" does have the two horns together, playing an established, bluesy unison thought, a beauty in economy, while the obligatory ballad "Silk 'n' Satin" is all Rollins wrapped in a fabric of sheen and softness. There's one track that features an entirely different band for some reason, as "More Than You Know" encompasses a full 11 minutes of this program, which in total is just shy of 32 minutes. This unmistakable melody is enveloped by Rollins and Thelonious Monk, with bassist Tommy Potter and drummer Art Taylor in support for a tune that is unlike the others in style and texture. Moving Out contains some fine music, especially for the time period.

The Russian composer Vladimir Martynov wrote "Come in!" for Kremer and Grindenko, who premiered the work in Leningrad in 1988. A six-movement work for two solo violins and string orchestra, it takes its title from the following text, written by the composer:

"The staircase to Heaven is inside your heart; you enter through the door of your soul.

Our whole life is but an attempt to find this miraculous entrance.

All our deeds are but a timid knocking on this mysterious door

All our hopes are to hear a voice that would respond, 'Come In!'..."

Closing the disc is the world premiere recording of Arvo Pärt's Darf ich... (May I), recorded in Berlin last year.

From Youtube.com:
Loose Blues is an album by jazz pianist Bill Evans released on the Milestone label featuring performances by Evans with Zoot Sims, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, and Philly Joe Jones recorded in 1962.

Personnel: Bill Evans (p) Zoot Sims (tsax) Jim Hall (gr) Ron Carter (b) Paul Motian (dr)
Released: 1982
Recorded: August 21-22, 1962 Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, NY
Label: Milestone MCD-9200-2
Producer: Orrin Keepnews

Tracks:
"Loose Bloose"
"Loose Bloose" [alternate take]
"Time Remembered"
"Funkallero"
"My Bells"
"There Came You"
"Fudgesickle Built for Four"
"Fun Ride"

Loose Blues was recorded for the Riverside label, but eventually dropped mostly because of Riverside forthcoming bankruptcy and the pressures of Verve producer Creed Taylor - he wanted Evans on his Verve label. So the project was shelved, and released posthumously only in 1982 as MCD-9200-2, after having been rediscovered in the Fantasy Records vaults. This was, in fact, believed to be a lost album since Keepnews couldn't find the master reels of the session dates, except for a take of "Loose Bloose". However, after a thorough research, he did succeed in finding the reels "stored in poorly marked tape boxes". The material was then assembled by Keepnews and Ed Michel. "Fudgesickle Built for Four" was named by Evans himself - who dug puns - and was a reference to "a bicycle built for two", a line from the popular song "Daisy Bell". Keepnews, recalling the sessions, stated that "My Bells", which is characterized by difficult tempo changes, took 25 takes to be recorded properly

From Youtube (via AllMusic.com?)
Loose Blues is an album by jazz pianist Bill Evans released on the Milestone label featuring performances by Evans with Zoot Sims, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, and Philly Joe Jones recorded in 1962.

Tracks
"Loose Bloose"
"Loose Bloose" [alternate take]
"Time Remembered"
"Funkallero"
"My Bells"
"There Came You"
"Fudgesickle Built for Four"
"Fun Ride"

Personnel: Bill Evans (p) Zoot Sims (tsax) Jim Hall (gr) Ron Carter (b) Paul Motian (dr)
Released: 1982
Recorded: August 21-22, 1962 Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, NY
Label: Milestone MCD-9200-2
Producer: Orrin Keepnews

Sunrise Sunset (from "Fiddler On The Roof") -- Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don't remember growing older
When did they?

When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

What words of wisdom can I give them?
How can I help to ease their way?
Now they must learn from one another
Day by day

They look so natural together
Just like two newlyweds should be
Is there a canopy in store for me?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears...
