I had to get a 2nd one. Needed one for the long gun as well as the pistol. When logical, rationalization is quite the handy tool too! LOL! Works well for me, quite often in fact.

"One cannot have too many Crimson Trace Green Lasers." (especially when you can buy a brand new GREEN railmaster on ebay for $122.00. The first one was $111.00. Unbelievable deal even at $122.00!!!!)

Packing, organising house for pet sitters, getting ready for work.
I get 1.5 days to myself in a friend's house pet sitting for her. I'm vacating my flat on the Pride parade route. I tried to be here for it last year and it was INSANE. I'm right at the start. So at 9am people were staking out their spots, floats setting up, speakers being put up the size of humans, and bad, bad horrible gay music - not good gay music - bad gay music FLOODING out at the height of my bedroom window (I'm one up from the ground floor) at volumes that were louder than my wearing ear phones to hear the TV were.

It lasted from 10am till 4pm. I was pretty much weeping from the noise by 2pm. Then all the drunken screaming and yelling till 4am.

because no one lives downtown, right? so its ok to rev your car, motorcycle, drunken scream, fight and shriek with your partner, smash bottles, and be a general asshole. Most people I know who live downtown flee Pride and leave it to the invading drunken burbites and come back after the weekend is over.

I finished the Octopus Mermaid painting I was making for my BFF sister-in-law and her hubby, this afternoon. I'm still an novice of sorts, but I think it turned out pretty good! Tomorrow (Thursday) starts a 5 day run for a multi family yard sale I am involved in, and I am currently baking 10 doz cookies, choco chip, snickerdoodle and a chocolate cookie with bits of marshmallow and chunks of choco. So there are many bags of two per bag for 50 cents and also an ice cold bottle of water, 50 cents also! Its darn hot round here lately.......and I have to admit the cookies were frozen dough rounds that just pop in the oven and bake! Its gonna be fun!!

I've had low iron for more than 20 years. It gets low enough to meet the criteria for iron deficient anemia. I tried supplements ordered by my primary care physician about 10 years ago but they (the supplements) bothered my stomach. My primary referred me to a hematologist who agreed my iron was low enough, so I had infusions. Back then it was a series of 12 or more. Now, they have medication so it just takes 2. We've been watching my iron drop for the past few years and had to wait long enough for my primary to refer me to a hematologist again. I'm already seeing the effects after one infusion. dee says I have more color in my face. I have more energy too. No side effects at all in my case. It's basically sitting in a chair for 30-60 min and having an IV administered (think blood donation in reverse). Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Give it a try and NEVER ignore your health (says the person who usually refuses to take care of herself).

Researching where to buy a Christmas tree. I haven't had a fresh tree for years, but J said she'd take me to shop for one and help me set it up. I found a place offering Colorado Blue Spruce as well as Douglas, Noble and Nordman Fir, but there are other options, also local - I can't decide.

Trying to stay awake to see if an offer the kids made on a house is accepted. The seller rejected their first offer and then asked for more. The kids have countered but have went as high as they will and not as high as the sellers are asking. Trying to find non ugly Forever Stamps. Zazzle no longer has them and so far the few places I've found custom postage their stamps don't appear to be Forever Stamps. However even if I'm wrong and they are Forever Stamps I have never seen Christmas stamps so hideous. For that kind of ugly you might as well just buy direct from the United States Post Office. I mean ugly is ugly and their ugly is cheaper so...

- tried to take over the world (again)! (Poik!) playing Civilisation V
- played The Pirate: Caribbean Hunt rather too much and got a bit of cramp from using my mouse too much
- had a nice salmon-flavoured thing (I forget what they're called) for dinner
- generally relaxed to start off my three weeks away from college
- read some web cartoons I like (and found out about arXiv from xkcd - very useful!)
- watched an old TV program about cats (cute and scary how much lions are like moggies! 8-} )
- not much else

Today I must
-get some milk
-wash up the crocks in the sink (umm.. I need to stop letting them pile up!)
-start on finishing my research proposal so I can email it in on Monday
-make sure I do some exercise and get back into a routine with it
-start getting back into good routines generally
-finish writing a letter
-confirm a dinner date with an old friend

And I'm having a think about whether maybe if I rearranged stuff in my flat it'd be a bit easier to look after it. I'm hoping over the winter break I might be able to find a bit of time to work on some poem/lyric ideas I've had over the last few months.
