HOW'D THAT GET THERE?
While cleaning out a closet today I found something that NEVER belonged to me. I don't even know who it did belong to. When I found it, I went
I picked it up like evidence with a trash bag turned inside out, cuz I haven't a clue who wore it, or what they did with it, or where it had been. Thought it would make a cute thread. What is the strangest thing you've found while cleaning. Or What did you find that you thought was long gone or lost while cleaning?

When I was living in a dorm for the first three years of my first B.A. One day I was cleaning under the bed (which was...terrifying lol) and found a muffin I had taken from dining hall a few months back. It had not moulded at all after all that time...I swear you couldn't break this thing with a sledgehammer. My friends and I tried slamming it against the wall/floor/with various objects...this muffin would not break. That's some damn good preservatives... Also have no idea how it got under the bed...lol

My son's sweet tooth....
I LOVE the title of this thread!!!
When I found 3 empty tubs of Whipped Topping, an empty box of Dunkin' Donuts, 2 empty tubs of Marshmallow Fluff and chocolate ice cream syrup and a HUGE bag of half eaten mixed candy, melted together in a nasty lump, all ooey gooey stuck to the sides of the duffel bag along with loose tobacco, cigarette papers, cigars and empty Camel packs in my 16 year old son's room, I confronted him... his response was "How'd that get there?" I wanted to squeeze his ears together!! |

Hitting them with the bat to see who could make a biscuit go the farthest. I am lauighing as I type. LOL Had the dog ate them, he'd be

After mom passed I was going thrue her cedar chest and at the bottom if found a very old copy of a book called memoirs of a woman of pleasure with some explict notes to mom with the inital J at the bottom...no I hvent read them even after all these years..nor the book. This surprises me cause she was an uptight peron about such things so I never thought of her being this way.

My daughters room usually stays relatively clean. Even though she keeps it picked up sometimes it needs a good deep cleaning.
On one such deep cleaning day I went into her closet and found roughly 200-300 pennies. A little mystified I ignored it and went on about what I was doing. I lifted her mattress to vacuum any crumbs or stray dust balls and found another 100 or so pennies. ? She comes home from school that day and I told her I cleaned her room. Eyeballing me suspiciously she dissapeared into her room. She came back out a few moments later looking PO'ed but didn't say a thing. I couldn't help but smile and asked "Are you missing something?" Fastforward a few days later...I caught her taking pennies out of my change jar...Not the silver, mind you.. just the pennies.

Come to think of it...
The family that moved into my Aunt and Uncle's old trailer might have found "strange things" under the bathroom vanity? When my Uncle would bathe us 3 very young girls, he was VERY impatient and rough. He HATED to wash our hair so he would use gallon jugs or buckets to dump water over our heads and he'd push us down with his hand just below our necks. My sister and I hated to be near him, I'm sorry his daughter was stuck with him. I seriously hated bath time and would hide his gallon jugs under the bathroom vanity where there was a gap in the floor. I prayed he wouldn't find them. I wonder what the next family thought when/if they found them? Quote:
*smiles* This made me think of my cousin... as a toddler, he would ALWAYS carry one penny in his left hand (which would turn green from the penny) and suck his right thumb. |

When I bought this house I had been cleaned by maid from top to bottom,we moved all our stuff in over two days, one morning my son ask if I had droped any pennys..no I said..all my change goes in the big jar(a big 5 galon water jug).Any how he found them in the washer, dryer,in every room in the house then put them in the jar..Thinking they were all picked up I forgot about it,well it wasnt long before more pennys showed up in every room in the house even the cabnets, after picking them up for a while I now just seep them under something cause they just come back if I pick them up,as many as I have picked up I wish they were dollar bills..but every penny helps. Its been near four years and I still have no idea where they came from.

Nothing is as bad as moving into your grandma's old house (because after almost 30 years together she finally moves in with her bf) and finding her porn stash and "toy" box in the false bottom of an antique cabinet...
I love my grandma dearly and I'm happy that she has a healthy love life, but still...that's my GRANDMA!! LOL |

While cleaning out my own closet today, I came across 3 identical pair of Justin boots. Now I know exactly how they all got there I just didn't know there were that many pair in there. I had to read inside each boot at the lot numbers to figure out which boots went together, I had 2 pair with the same lot number. I had to look at the bottoms to see which 2 boots were worn the most on the soles to determine which to throw away. LOL I also found a bag with mail in it from Aug and Sept 2009 in it. Birthday cards bills all kinds of stuff in that bag. Now how'd that get there?

Chuckling....Gemme, I actually have 6 pair of that same boot 4 brown pair, a blue pair, and a black pair. I wear them slam out before I part with them. I wear a pair for like casual wear and when I get them scuffed up some I start wearing them as my every day pair and wear the soles off them, meanwhile I start another brown pair for casual wear. Course I have the blue and black pair for casual wear to match my hat and belt or shirt or whatever. However I filled up a tote with Reebocks, Ariat's, flip flops, Brama's to take to Goodwill.

Bumping this fun, old thread
I will never forget the day Blade found the item he spoke about in the quoted post. And I'll never forget his reaction
You had to be there!! Life is never boring with your best friend. Recent events made me say "how did THAT get there?" especially when Spring Cleaning in December. Yesterday it was a box of batteries that had disappeared and suddenly reappeared. Last week it was my keys that I never misplace but somehow misplaced for 2 days (my best friend would roast me for misplacing them. It's an inside joke.) How did THEY get THERE? (in with my clean underwear) Quote:

Someone else's paystub appeared on my desk at home. A person I don't know who works for a company I never heard of. No envelope.
WTF? I mailed the paystub back to the company. That kinda spooked me.
