When did you come out?

I came out when I was 30.
I told my parents at 12 I was gay, but the rejection I got from them that I didn't know my own mind sent me back into the closet.
But that's life, we do a lot of those kinds of things bc we don't want to disappoint other ppl.

I knew I liked girls as early as 2nd grade...but it gets drilled into your head (especially in my very Catholic family) that girls like boys....period.

The year my very religious gramma died, I started dating my first girlfriend. I was 28 or 29.

I didn't have an opportunity to "come out" persay....my aunt saw me and my girlfriend together and put 2 and 2 together and informed my mother...who proceeded to have a total melt down.

Its all good now, but it really was not pretty for a long LONG time in my world...

I had a good feeling I was gay and my first girl crush in 6th grade.

But I didn't officially come out until college, age 19.

Ironically, and unintentionally, it was on National Coming Out Day.
