What's Happening in Austin

So, when is the best time of year to visit Austin? I'm thinking that I want to scope out some possible areas that I can retire in (well, I am already retired, buit can't leave here for another year). Need a dry climate, however, for these ancient arthritic joints. But, I must be somewhere that a queer community exists. And the cost of living fits for a retired person's budget! What is the average cost of homes in Austin?

And would I have to develop a drawal?

It depends on how heat-tolerant you are. This part of Texas is a damp heat and it doesn't cool off that much at night in the summer. Summer lasts from the beginning of May to maybe mid-October. I definitely don't consider it a "dry climate" - if we're talking humidity. The sun is out plenty though.

So I think the best time would be anywhere between Halloween and May Day unless you don't mind a nice film of sweat or if you're generally cool-natured.

I was born there and have spent the majority of my life there (I'm about an hour away at the moment), and I don't have a severe drawl. When I lived in California, people would say, "If you're from Texas, why don't you have a drawl?" But I know I used to have one and I suspect I still do if I'm talking to somebody with one. Anyway, drawl not needed. Austin has a LOT of imports anyway

Snort. I don't play that game with KC. I told him I was leaving three times. The final time was "I'm leaving as soon as I get dressed. If you are going, meet me at the car."

He was up. Amazing. He said that he and Parker had a good time going out the night before.

Grin, he knew I'd KILL him if he drank and drove so he had his drinks early in the evening. He doesn't want to lose car privileges. He said Parker is so friendly and outgoing. He wants to be more like that. I told him she must take after her mama. Apparently he got LOTS of phone numbers from gay guys because Parker talked to them! LOL. Apparently she's a really good fruit fly. Who knew!

Or lose his license with a DWI...or lose his life...or lose his freedom for the rest of his life because he killed someone else while driving "buzzed" or drunk. I'm a HUGE enemy of driving after drinking, to the point of being annoying. So good for you for making it clear that will not be tolerated! A brand new 21-year-old, even one so awesome as KC, still isn't equipped have all of his brain properly engaged without a little evil stepmonster help.
