In a new place I ask neighbors, coworkers, local folks, firemen, and policemen to recommend a good automotive repair shop. Some folks have good luck with yelp.
I agree with NavyButch for a fast brake job you can use a chain store also consider Brake Check. Be careful and don't let anyone take advantage of you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any automotive repair questions.
