ok, this theme, Women, is now officially closed. Last mailing list is sent to everyone! Wow! What a great group of people! Love this! I cant wait to see all the great cards!

the 4th of july is coming up...anyone want to do a theme for July? So we can start scouting cards for it? It can be anything relevant for July 4th! I will even do the mailing for that one as well if you like..I enjoyed it!

I just received My 3 postcard books that I ordered from Amazon- and also one postcard that I ordered off from Ebay. So, that only leaves one postcard hanging out there that I have not received yet.

These postcard books are awesome!! I have never purchased postcards this way before- I love the detail in each of them. I am glad I said I was going to do 2 for everyone- it would be seriously hard to just pick one.

I was kind of hoping we could just do something that was not themed. Because the books I bought are women themed- BUT- two of those books one could say are another theme as well.

However, I am enjoying this so much I do not care either way. If we decide to go with the 4th of July- we would have a good headway on shopping around for cards.

I was thinking about that too. Given the reason (identity issues, meaning that they were already timed out and came back under an assumed name and false pretenses), I would lean towards eliminating them from the list although I supposed everyone could do whatever feels right for them.

I was wondering what "timed out" meant. Does that mean he's been banned for some reason?

Basically. It means that whoever Navy is is someone who was previously removed from the site for bad behavior and has come back under a guise. There are quite a few that do that. Thankfully, we have some good folks in charge and they get caught eventually.

I've always been confused about the 'identity issues".

Does it ALWAYS mean they were "timed out" under their old screen name or could it just be they made another screen name, which one needs permission for,and they failed to do that?

I am going to send Navy a postcard. I will leave it up to you whether or not to send him one.

I grieve this loss. I liked NB. He was polite and caring and a gentleman. Whoever he was in the past, we wont know. He could have been a cad. I just know who he presented himself as now. This is why I chose to send him a postcard. But its up to you if you want to send him one or not.

I am going to address this with Ms Medusa as well, to see if there are any concerns she has with us sending him postcards

In my experience, it's not a good thing. Usually, when it's benevolent issue, there's a 'formally known as' type of message under the new screen name. Sometimes it's in the signature but it's usually there if it's a "harmless" situation.

I've been duped before and I'm sure will be again as folks that have been removed from the site tend to weasel their way back in, one way or another. Luckily, they are usually caught pretty quickly. Sometimes I can spot a returning person and sometimes I can't.

Forgive the intrusion, I wouldn't normally be posting here as I am not taking part in the swap, however on reading the discussion which touched on identity issues I felt this may be relevant to me...

I was a member before known as Daisy Chain, I managed to lock myself out of my account with an email change, I did mail admin soon after but didnt get a reply, life took over and time passed but I found myself visiting as a guest so decided to rejoin, switching my old name about seemed like a good idea to keep some continuity. I didnt know I needed permission for this until reading Homoe`s post, my apologies to all. This may all sound like a long ramble {it probably is !} but I was a little concerned my rejoining and name change may come across as underhanded in some way after reading of other members `identity issues` so wished to clarify. Gemme raises a good point about `previously known as` so I will add that to my signature.
