Most of my phone calls are long distance: really close friends that I spend about an hour talking to every couple of months. In between we email each other.
My local friends I either see in person or IM. If I talk to them on the phone it's for something really specific, like making plans for one thing or another. Funny how things change. I used to spend HOURS on the phone!
