Don't talk trash about someone, keep your mouth shut if you can say something positive or nice about them!

Agreed. I try to honor that mission for the most part unless I lose my temper.

Me as well, but sometimes it's hard especially if the person is "difficult".

The above idiom operates on the antiquated idea that if someone finds something that is not owned or abandoned, then the "finder" feels entitled to keep it.

There's not much good in pushing this type of mindset or ideology because there's nothing honest about taking something that does not really belong to you.

I don't like the saying or mindset.

Chad, you make losing one's temper sound similar to losing one's tuke. Temper is emotion, and emotions must be controlled and dispensed sparingly.

Generally understood as an expression of humorous thought, but is often used in a way to tip toe around a serious subject or social taboo.

Sidebar: by far, this holds up as mostly true. It's a useful tool as an proverbial Ice Breaker....
