Meaning you can't tell how deep someone or something is by simply observing! You have to dig deeper, below to surface to find out truly.

Old people can be very capable. Just because someone is old doesn’t mean they can’t do the task at hand. Perhaps they can do the task better than a younger person because they have more experience.
