I'm not sure if slippers technically qualify as shoes but there is no "slippers thread" I've seen at least........

The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto is a must for anyone who thinks they "know shoes".

It's remarkable; a true treat for shoe-lovers; the history of "shoes" from prehistoric times; Chinese foot-bnding; the fashions through the European Renaissance; the weirdness of our beloved Sixties; basically everything humans decided to wear on their feet to protect them form sharp stones and scorpions to turning "foot protection" into-class defined fashion.

And a lot about what you wear now and who got you there.

Think you know shoes? Go there and see how we got to where we got. It's such interesting fun.

So here's my thing, not a single pair of shoes I've see here in the last 10 or so posts would survive a single Winter in Eastern Canada....maybe not even late Fall and def not early Spring.

Here, fashion takes a far far back seat to keeping your toes from freezing off and accommodating triple layer wool socks that wick sweat.

I'm an Birkenstock and PF Flyer kind of girl. I have a few pair of stiletto heels, bit wear them on special occasion only. The last time I wore any still etc heels was for an job interview on campus, a couple years ago or even further back, I wore my purple Alligator stiletto heels for my Graduate Master's commencement.

For work, I usually wear an Black steel toed low cut women's leather shoe, which is called an Georgia Boot Romeo. The fit like a glove, protect my toes from injury, and they're weather proof. They last an long time, but they're not cheap. My last pair was about $120 .....
