Work, for 48 glorious hours. Traffic sucks and people are driving like assholes, which has made for a very busy day thus far. If you’re traveling for Christmas, please don’t endanger your life or someone else’s. If you’d like to see your friendly first responders, feel free to stop by our station, rather than having us come to you on a congested roadway.

We're going out for lunch to either a teriyaki place or Chinese restaurant depending on which is open. Then off to shop the thrift stores. Next stop - picking up a few last minute groceries. With so much shopping being done online these days the stores here aren't as crowded for last minute shoppers. Even if this year proves different we have everything we need, nothing that can't wait till after the holidays save for milk. I have canned but seriously unless it's world war three we're hitting Grocery Outlet in the hood and just paying the buck extra we shouldn't have to. Then it's over to my oldest son's to place to watch holiday movies on the big screen.

I’ll be spending the day with my parents and big brother watching Saints football, cooking, eating, drinking, and being merry. My dad will make a big pot of seafood gumbo. Tonight, we’ll probably ride around and look at lights.

Okay, so cooking is a rather new endeavor for me. At a restaurant in Chicago recently, I ordered a white chicken chili dish. WOW! so tasty. Purchased all the ingredients and will be experimenting with this new recipe all day.

Kent, my daughter, and I will be spending the evening with my parents. Hopefully there will be no awkward, passive aggressive comments or actions from my parents. They don't mean any harm. They are just holding on to hope that I will turn straight. Lol I just try to smile politely like I do to all my "church folk" friends.
On a lighter note, we are having ham and chocolate pie from Swiss Bakery and opening presents later. Presents at home will be opened in the morning.
