Sooo many mushrooms in the woods. I just adore mushrooms. I was reading up on them and saw a purple one I just wished I could see...and today I did...among many others.

I saw a flock of geese, lots of them, winging their way across the river, as I crossed the Willamette River over the Ross Island Bridge, headed to the west side of the city.

The mushroom you found is in the Cortinarius family I believe and if it is Cortinarius violaceus it is edible but terribly bitter.

It could also be Cortinarius iodes or it could be Cortinarius iodeoides

Do not eat either !

I got up early on this rainy day to take the dogs for a hike before work...

Not long after getting there, I saw a large bird fly up into the trees ahead.

I picked up tiny 7lb Bitsy thinking it was a hawk. When we got under the tree where the bird was it flew up and I could see that it was actually an owl!

I was so darn excited! I hadn’t seen an owl in years. I started making “who cooks for you” calls since I’m certain it was a great horned. But it never answered. Still, VERY cool beans!

right now I see the beautiful canyon and all the tiny lights that represent families and people’s lives. I love that our house is a tiny light that they can see too.

Yesterday, after coming home from the best brunch ever, the heavy rain that came down, the speed of the windshield wipers, and puddles of water!

I then see a huge tree branch laying across two cars. I had a conversation with the owner of one and said, I hope there is no damage. I turned to my brunch partner and say, wow..I usually park here. THEN..I realized, I was that second car!!!

Whew..no damage to either of us.

I was up early (per usual) and watched the heavy clouds rolling on down by the river. They obscured the view of the hill that is past the river and I could almost imagine that I was back in the Blue Ridge Mountains...
