1) An individual of the butch or femme persuasion who uses an interesting technique to garner attention. This technique is generally two-fold starting with the bid followed by the apology. Often see in conjunction with a Sympathy Sponge but the two can be mutually exclusive.

The bid is most often a dramatic post with hand wringing and hair pulling and sometimes teeth gnashing. Expect this post to be long -- very long.

The apology follows within five to ten postings by others. It doesn't matter what the responses of these other posts are. As long as they address the bid post, the Attention Slut is happy. The apology post will use phrases like 'I didn't mean', 'I'm sorry I said anything' or 'I had a bad day at work'.
